I have run across folks -AND- it has been my hands-on experience in (completely unfair) testing that the shorter Glock 29 is actually a more accurate handgun than a Glock 20. If it was me choosing, I would pick the G20 last of the three for sure, and I'm saying this as the new one isn't even actually reality yet.

In many cases, that comes down to grip fit in the hand. The 20 is a much bigger overall grip, and the 29 may fit better....but the 10 mm round does benefit from the longer barrel.

Glock model 20 is my choice for carry when traveling to places where the predatory animals come bigger than humans. Rather stiff full metal jacket handloads on board when out in the widerness, then switch to hollowpoints when I get back to town after the day's hike or whatever.

You may be saying the 29 is easier for some to shoot better but I would doubt more accurate. I have a 20 and with the right loads it is extremely accurate. When you talk about hot loads the 29 can be a bear where a 20 is pleasant to shoot with even the hottest loads.

My own experience is that I shot my 29 far more accurately than the 20 I was shooting that day, so that was obviously not a fair contest, but others (more than a few others and even at least one well known, published and accomplished shooter) have simply been able to wring MORE accuracy from the midsize platform in direct competition with the full size model of the same caliber.

Does it seem hard to believe or fly directly in the face of common sense? Yeah, I would agree with both. However, it's been my experience and others also.

The Glock 29 may be billed or marketed as some manner of a "compact" but ask anyone who owns one -- it is almost exactly the same size as a Glock 19, just much thicker.

Of the 2 choices I vote for the AK. It's going to be much cheaper (and arguably more fun) to shoot. I've never had the need to look for 10 mm ammo in stores, but I'm willing to bet that 7.62x39 is going to be more than just a little easier to find.

Honest answer coming from a gun dealer, between the two I'd get the AK. Reason being, Glocks will always be in this country and have the same price tag. AKs are at a near prepanic price and are more than likely never gonna be this low again. Plus as you can see with the kings last pen stroke, per EO he can easily ban the import of firearms at a whim (think Saiga/Veprs).

Can I make a suggestion? While the N-PAP'S are great guns and built like tanks, id hold off on getting one because there have been issues lately with the bolts mushrooming out, plus the civilian butt stock is an 1.5" longer than Warsaw length and have an awfully high comb not allowing for a good cheek weld. Look up "pap slap."

Right now the Century Arms WASR-10's are a great gun and ROMARM has really stepped up in the quality dept on these rifles.

Good advice Jimmy. I've went back and forth between the two, npap and wasr.

You DO need to own at least one mag fed, military-style semi auto rifle. Do you have one?

Did "Appleseed" and recommend it. But don't think an AK/AKM style rifle is a "Rifleman's rifle".

I have a Palmetto State Armory AR.

May not be an optimal rifle for a Rifleman but it can be done. I've even seen people shoot Rifleman with tube-fed, bolt actions. As we like to say, "It is the nut behind the butt." Keeping in mind that the course of fire is timed, has mag changes, and positions transitions... one of the best shooters/scores I've ever seen on the line was a fellow using a bolt action. The rifle and the rifleman's actions were smooth as silk.
