The forums have been hosted for some time now out of my pocket. We are coming up on the annual domain renewal for ohioccwforums.org and I pay roughly $20/month to keep the forums online. I do this to maintain the long-standing history of discussions here indexed in Google, and so that people have a place to discuss this topic outside of modern social media censorship. If you enjoy the forums and you'd like to help offset the cost, please consider a venmo donation here

Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said two Mifflin Township police officers were conducting a traffic stop near Mecca Road and Perdue Avenue around 6:45 p.m.
The passenger got out of the car and began running about four minutes after the initial stop, WBNS reported.
The passenger, later identified as 21-year-old Daevonte Dixon, shot the officers while they were chasing him, according to Baldwin.
He said the shooting was “unprovoked.”
Both officers were transported to the Grant Medical Center. One is in critical condition and another is in stable condition.
Columbus police initially said one person was in custody, but Baldwin later said that person was the driver.
He said they were cooperative and have since been released. The driver is not considered a suspect at this time, according to WBNS.
“We do have information on the suspect. He is currently on the run. He is armed and dangerous,” Baldwin said.
Dixon, who was last seen in a gray shirt and camouflage pants, has been charged with attempted murder and felonious assault in connection to the shooting.
The Fraternal Capital City Lodge #9 announced it was coordinating with the Central Ohio Crime Stoppers to offer a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Dixon’s arrest, WBNS reported.
The two officers were shot and taken to Grant Medical Center. One of the officers was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, Steel said. The other officer went into emergency surgery early Thursday morning and was in the intensive care unit after being taken in for another surgery.
Steel told 10TV that as of Saturday morning, the officer is stable and will be in the ICU for a few weeks.
This next part sounds all too familiar, with many other cases.
Additional records from Franklin County Municipal Court show that Dixon has been previously charged in various incidents dating back to 2022.
Records from Franklin County Court of Common Pleas state that Dixon pleaded guilty in 2024 to felony charges of aggravated burglary, unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance and having weapons while under disability. The charges stemmed from an incident in 2023.
As part of a plea agreement, he was put under community control for up to six months.
Steel condemned the courts for allowing Dixon "to be released back onto our streets" last year on so-called "community control" despite his convictions.
