NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — A North Olmsted Police officer was shot early Saturday morning while responding to a call in the area of Douglas Road and Alden Drive. Police Chief Bob Wagner said that the officer was struck twice and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at St. John Westshore Hospital. Wagner said the officer has been employed with the city since Aug. 17, 2021. Wagner said the 27-year-old man who fired on police was hit multiple times in the exchange. The man was taken to Fairview Hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time.
