Message From Your Legislative Coordinator
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every
purpose under the “heaven”
My season of fighting to restore our firearm rights in the State
of Ohio has come to its end. When I became involved in 2009, I
said I wanted to make things better for my grandchildren. With
the passage of Stand Your Ground and Permit-less Carry, my
personal mission is complete and I am moving on to the next
phases of my life, which hopefully will be a lot less political.
Vigilance is the price of freedom and someone, or several
someone’s needs to step up and accept the torch of vigilance
and be ready to sound the alarm when the enemies of freedom
attempt to mount attacks on our rights as free men. Every
legislative session the usual crowd introduce their usual gun
control bills, which get assigned a committee and never heard
from again, but someday that will change. When it does, we
need active and accurate prompt notification to the gun
community from the grassroot level. Don’t rely on alphabet
organizations to not quietly concede some of our hard fought
for rights away. Read every moving bill again and again
searching for the hidden and unintended consequences,
especially in last minute committee negotiations. Remember
the 2017 lame duck.
Thank you to Ohioans for Concealed Carry for over a decade of
full use of their name and platform, and special thank you to
Jeff Garvas for the huge amount of freedom in shaping the
organization’s strategic positions and public arguments. And
thank you to the many supporters who are always ready to rally
for our rights. We have all done a lot over the years, and I
daresay things are better now because of us all.
The law is what it is. I know it isn’t perfect. Now fix the law,
tweak it, make it better, promote more liberty. Above all else,
don’t lose it.
My season is over. A new season has begun.
I wish you all to live long and prosper in Liberty.

You've been a force ever since I've been here Chuck. I thank you for everything you've done to help further our rights in Ohio. Relax now and enjoy your life. Love you brother.

Re: Message From Your Legislative Coordinator
Thank you, Chuck, for your diligence, vigilance, and dedication to our rights in the gun owners' community. It has benefited many people through Ohio which spreads to other states. We have come a long way and gained many more freedoms and restoration of our rights in large part due to your hard work. A plaque and a handshake is not sufficient to thank you for your service but it may be all you, and many others, may receive. But you do have our undying gratitude.
Perhaps, when I retire in a year, I may be able to pick up the torch with help from others.
Thank you.

Re: Message From Your Legislative Coordinator
When I look at where Ohio was in 2004 (that's when I actually started paying attention), and all the changes and improvements that have been made to our firearms laws since them, it's quite significant.
Thanks for all your work over the years.

Chuck, you have been a blessing to this organization and all who have benefited from it’s accomplishments. Untold numbers have gained from your tireless dedication to what you’ve believed in. It’s bigger than any of us truly know.
Thank you — so much.

Chuck, thank you for all you've done, especially taking over some of my projects when I stepped down. You have accomplished more than almost everyone involved in the organization and it will miss you, but you've earned your rest. Enjoy it and I hope to still see you around.
