When Are the Feds going to go after the Bloomberg the( blooming Idiot )for violating federal statutes by delibretly making straw purchases. He is guilty of doing what he says he is trying to prevent. I would love to see his liberal donkey locked up for firearms violations. His diatribe is the biggest bunch of [deleted -- TR] I've ever heard in my life.
I can never understand why the NRA doesn't go after him the way they did Ray in New Awwlweans.
You would think that the courts would see the wrongdoings of this mayor, especially thinking that he has the power to go interstate with his stupidity.
Marlene and Dave aren't that big of an outfit and the way I see it,it is the harrassment of the Mayor and his Lawyers that made them buckle under. I would withdraw my settlement with them and tell them where to 'stick it".
Americans need not fear the federal government because they enjoy the advantage of being armed, which you possess over the people of almost every other nation. . James Madison.
The NRA has been reporting this in it's magazines, but apparently either hasn't done anything else, or the small stores just don't want the hassle (they're still at the mercy of ATF).
This will have to be handled from the very top.... To take out Bloomberg, and to pin ears back at ATF should any retaliation occur. Don't forget that it seems quite clear that a lot of former Clinton/Gore/Reno policies are still being enforced....
Another tack: The small stores are being forced to take on the presence of "Special Masters". These are lawyers (on Bloomberg's payroll) who are supposed to monitor their activities. There's got to be a RICO violation hiding in there. Meantime, we, locally, need to find out who these guys are and remind them that there are 80,000 CHL holders in OH who aren't happy about the situation....

On the Agreement Between Bloomburg and Millers I have a couple
Of Questions ;: First; What is Meant By"Agreed to Allow a City Appointed
Inspector to Monitor Sales ?" Does this mean they will be able to check
Miller's Sales Records and get Names etc From These Sales Records !!
Secondly: I was of The Opinion that These Records Were Somewhat
Confidental Between the Seller and The Customer . The Seller I Thought
had to Keep Them For Two Years.. And After the Initial Federal Records
Check that Part Of the Transaction had to Be Destroyed after 48 Hours.
Maybe I'm Confused ,But Even So, I beleive this Agreement Will Hurt
Miller's Retail Sales..I know it will as far as I'm concerned .
" It's Better to Wag Your Tail than to Wag Your Tongue"
I don't have the full story (gotta go ask Marlene), but ("the City" is Bloomberg's City not Youngstown) I believe you're substantially correct.
There's some stuff on THR that describes these cases - I need to go look over there again.
The "Special Master" is supposed to be looking at potential straw purchases and improper bulk sales. Straw purchases are sometimes fairly easy to spot, but sometimes not. Bulk sales done at the front counter, really means that they're trying to enforce a "one gun a month" sort of thing (OH has no such legal requirements). The only way to do that is to record the buyer's names and KEEP THE INFORMATION....
(Bulk sales and straw purchases out the back door are another story and probably a non-issue.)
The only documents that we now exchange when purchasing a gun are:
1. The notification that we've agreed to pay for the NICS check even if it fails.
2. The computer-generated sales slip (and any Credit Card paperwork that goes with it).
3. The 4473.
The first one (usually ignored for "old" customers) was always just affixed to the sale slip or trashed. The other two are retained. There's no paper on the NICS check - they mark the 4473.
I'm guessing that the spies will be able to see the sales slips and 4473's. Since they're not local LE or BATFE, access to the 4473 may not be possible. However the sales slips are pretty much the property of the seller. Any confidentiality there would be up to the seller....
Bloomberg's "net" (other than the felonies that his people have been committing to entrap our dealers) involves what amount to paperwork violations (not spelling out "OHIO" or "YES" or "NO" where an abbreviation would be just as meaningful) and some Millers guns turning up in traces - requests to see who originally purchased a gun. There's no way to account for where that gun was between the time of purchase and the time it was traced. This is like having a car you bought in 1963 turn up in a hit & run last week, and going after the dealership....
(The Vindicator's article was pretty good....)
I'm not going to lose any sleep about the confidentiality aspect. However we should still be on the NRA's case (OFCC could help too) to break this mess before it harms Millers and other small dealers.
Remember that's what Bloomie is all about - screw over the small dealers so that all gun sales first end up in the hands of major retailers, and then bully the majors into stopping sales.... We need to support Millers.... Even if it's just ammunition and other small stuff if you're afraid to be visible. (I don't blame those who feel that way.) I've got a Kimber .22 conversion kit on order and want (hoping for the right price) to buy another gun in the next month or so. Partially for me, and partially for some solidarity.... Millers is practically family, but given the strategy being used against all small dealers, I can't ignore it.

Stu.
