Ohioans for Concealed Carry is announcing our annual Part in the Park on Sunday, August 14th, 2022 !

Our event, as usual, will be held at Liberty Park, located in Powell, Ohio.

Powell, Ohio 43065

Our list of speakers is yet to be finalized and will be posted as soon as possible.

Our lunch this year will be prepared and served, again, by Boy Scout Troup 95, from Bremen, Ohio.

Menu items, along with a link to pre-register for meals, will be posted soon.

Please watch for future updates and plan now and hope to see both old and new faces this year !!!

It is with great sorrow, that those of us at OFCC have decided to cancel our annual "Party in the Park" on Sunday, August 14th., 2022, due to unforeseen circumstances.
We know that many here, look forward to our event, and we will miss seeing you this year.

WHAT circumstances?

Look, we all get that stuff happens, but we'd like to get at least SOME context and/or explanation.

With gas at $4.50+ a gallon, that's one aspect of this news I'm not sad about. But I'd like to know what happened.

Especially since the bylaws adopted in 2016 state:

Article IV. ARTICLE FOUR: MEETINGS

• Section IV.1 Annual Meetings. There shall be a minimum of two meetings each calendar year:
  the Annual Meeting of the Board and the Annual Meeting of the General Membership. Both
  meetings are regular meetings of the Board, and the latter is the only required annual meeting of the
  General Membership.

PITP *was* that annual meeting of the General Membership requirement being fulfilled.


Not that I care about membership meetings, but I had moved commitments around to make a trip to Ohio for the weekend of PITP. Guess I can use my time in other ways on that weekend.

As I've pointed out...

We're all adults (sort of), and we get that things happen.

It would just be nice if "management" would deign to tell us what happened.

Maybe OFCC might be ending as we know it.

Hey everyone I want to share something we posted to Facebook in the past hour. Before I could get in here to post this three or four people have already stepped up.


Hey Everyone - OFCC is looking for some volunteers for Sunday August 14th. Due to some family emergencies, some of our long-term volunteers simply can't help pull off the 2022 Party In The Park. We've made a decision to try to hold the picnic anyway but we need your help.
If OFCC can find a handful of volunteers to help with small tasks such as: running the check-in table and collecting cash, helping OFCC obtain and bring drinks to the picnic, and other small tasks we can really use your help. Anyone who helps will have lunch on OFCC.
If you are interested, please reply to this thread before Monday by 6pm.

I could help at the check in table. Lawd knows this organization would never have "Hello my name is" stickers without me showing up!

I can help with the drinks and such. I assume you mean you need transportation for the soda/water/ice/etc?
