Hopefully the sound system is brought along in its entirety. The couple of times it wasn't, that aspect of the day sucked.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

We don't plan on letting that happen again, Brian
It looks as though we will have plenty of "new" volunteers from this forum and from our FB group, stepping up for this years event and we appreciate it.
And yes, Brian, you get a free meal on us, especially if you help us at the registration table, (I usually took on that job , with a few others), unfortunately you don't always get to hear the first few speakers being that far away from the main pavilian.
I'm one of the coordinators that can't make it this year.
I will certainly miss seeing everybody.

A suggestion...?
It's getting near the end of July, and it's only 20 days until the PITP. It's probably a good time for whomever is organizing this to put together a list and post it up:
1. Who has already volunteered to help, and what they offered to do.
2. Where should volunteers be and when should they be there.
3. Any needs that aren't already covered.

We are official!
The Party In The Park will be held August 14th at LIberty Park. You can sign up here:
https://ohioccw.org/index.php?option=co ... et=1&id=28" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A number of you have asked for some back story, so let me explain it here:
The OFCC Volunteer who owned the picnic as a project is dealing with some personal family issues that are not mine to share. As the picnic date approached not much had been completed and it became questionable as to if we should have the picnic. A call was made to tell both the Boy Scouts and the gentleman who cooked for us that we were going to cancel the picnic. We subsequently had a discussion and said why not have the picnic and have others pitch in and help?
We placed a call to try to confirm the food was still possible only to learn the person who cooked for us told the Boy Scouts we had cancelled, so they found another opportunity to perform that day. The person who was cooking for us booked something else that he could no longer cancel either -- we were suddenly without any way to cater the picnic, but had a handful of volunteers offer to help run it.
This turned into a mad dash to call prior caterers and new ideas. One vendor told us they could do it, asked a bunch of questions, and simply never got back to us. We reached out to a prior vendor who said they can do it, but food prices are up. So we are BACK on at this time with a caterer and a handful of volunteers who are going to help us run the check in table, give out tickets, and take any last minute walk up fokls. We need your help to get people to come now by filling out the link above and buy tickets to make it worth our vendor's time to come cook for us.
As you can imagine we are a little behind, so if you know anyone who would like to help with door prizes or anyone who would like to speak you can have them contact me directly via email, which is jeff at ohioccw.org.

Contrary to a popular belief when I brag about OFCC accomplishments I'm not looking for your thank you or personal recognition. I'd much prefer you send me an email telling me when you are going to get involved in doing what I've been doing since 1999. We are only as effective as we make ourselves. We need the next generation of OFCC to step to the plate.
Is that you?

I can still pick up the beverages and presumably the ice, coolers, etc.
I will need to know where I am going to pick them up at, and when.

I'm always good for a box or two of ammunition to throw on the door prize table.
