So, Officer Friendly pulled me over in my home town.
For reasons I will not get into, I was not armed.
The wife and I pull up to the red light (only one in the entire township) and stop as a small car with a go fast exhaust goes through his green light.
It's dark out (about 8:00pm), I look and see no traffic, so I make a right on red.
Within 30 yards, I get lit up.
Officer asks for license and insurance. Both are given.
He comes back and asks if I know why he pulled me over.
Me: "Not a clue."
He claims I rolled the light and pulled out in front of him.
Me: "I believe I stopped."
Officer: How long have you had your CCW?"
Me: "5 years, I'm up for a renewal."
Officer: "What's the rule for CCW?"
Me: "I must notify, but only if I am armed."
Officer: to the effect of "Well, yea, but it's nice if you tell us you are not armed."
Me: **crickets chirping ***
Officer: "well I'll give you a warning."
Me: Thanks
What I think really happened was, he came out of the parking lot on the corner all blacked out following the go fast kid.
I made my legal right on red and spoiled his fun.
Neither my wife or I saw him till he turned on his headlights and gumballs.

Spencer, Ohio.
I thought that name sounded familiar.
I've been there once that I know of.
It's the town in the west of Medina county that has two Main streets.
There's a restaurant and a pizza place at the intersection of Main and Main.
That intersection is the location of the only traffic light in the town also.

Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

That's right.
My wife will tell me about some house on Main St.
I'll ask which 1, we have 4. North, South, East and West Main St.
Gotta love it.

Just out of curiosity I looked it up. I'm surprised it even can afford it's own police force. It only has a census of 753. It's so small it only has one bar and one Dollar general.AlanM wrote:Spencer, Ohio.

LOL, Most of our PD force is paid from money from the J.B. Firestone Trust.
J.B. was an early big wheel in town and owned the local bank, set up a large trust fund that still pays for a bunch of things here.
Yes, only 1 dolor general that we tried to keep out, but they have deeper pockets than our little town.
Interestingly, we also have an Ohio E-Check station.

When I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, outside Fayetteville NC, my sister in law and her husband called from a pay phone (pre-cell phone days) and said he was in town and did not know how to get to our place. I asked where he was. He said he was outside the pawn shop. If you've ever been there, while your on the floor laughing I will point out to the rest of you there are thousands of pawn shops in Fayetteville.Wiz458 wrote:That's right.

God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.
Carrying a gun is a right, not a crime.
Gun control is racist.
