Just thought I would jog everyones mind since their are now 33 cosponsors.
It worked for 347, lets pray it works for 1022.
Some additional info for those whom are wondering.
heres the people who sponsor(like) the bill.
I dont think their are any republicans on it (just an observation).
none are from ohio, so we cant yell at them.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z ... o1022:@@@P
however, there are 2 ppl on the judiciary committee,
http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/c ... hjudiciary
that are from ohio, chabet and jordan.
according to Gun Owners of America (GOA),
http://www.gunowners.org/109hrat.htm
chabot is for us with an A- rating.
jordan is not on GOA's rating system as I think hes kinda new?
so, if we want the bill to die in the committee and never make it to the house, we need to contact the committee peoples and win them over.

Here is what I wrote to Steve Chabot:
Sir,
On the issue of H.R. 1022: Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007, I would like to voice my opinion. In the past, I have worked on your campaign not too far from my home in XXXXXXXX and vote at every general election (I believe my fiancee even dated your son). I want to say thank you for your service to this country. As for the matter at hand, I see that you are on the House Judiciary Committee and that the bill stated has been referred to that committee. As a matter of opinion, I am against the bill. It is so named by the Democrats (the only co-sponsors at this time) to elicit votes. How can you not vote for a "Law Enforcement Protection Act?" I know that you see through the rhetoric and know that this bill is bad for America. The second amendment is not about hunting. We know that, you know that... taking guns from law abiding citizens will only help to arm the outlaws, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have them." Taking our ability to defend ourselves one piece at a time is slowly destroying that which sets us apart from the rest of the world. We know that restricting firearms works, compare Sweden and England's per capita murder rates, hasn't it worked so well in Great Britain?
Guy Smith, copyright holder for Gunfacts ( http://www.gunfacts.info ) has many good, logical statistics that are fascinating on the subject.
“ . . . we cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation’s recent drop in gun violence.” - “An Updated Assessment of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban: Impacts on Gun Markets and Gun Violence, 1994-2003”, National Institute of Justice, June 2004 -----
Only 8% of criminals use anything that is classified (even incorrectly) as an "assault weapon", though fewer than 1% claimed to use these firearms when committing crimes. - Bureau of Justice Statistics, “Firearm Use by Offenders”, November 2001 -----
“ . . . the weapons banned by this legislation [1994 Federal Assault Weapons ban - since repealed] were used only rarely in gun crimes” - “Impacts of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban: 1994-96.”, National Institute of Justice, March 1999
Not that facts ever matter to gun-grabbers. They don't care about our safety, just destroying those evil, inanimate tools that set us free.
