https://local12.com/news/local/cincinna ... -push-backCINCINNATI (WKRC) - Parents will have to lock up their guns or face a felony if a new bill becomes law in Ohio. Two Tri-State lawmakers say they're introducing common-sense gun legislation, but some gun advocates disagree.
The two Democratic lawmakers say their proposed law could help prevent the next school shooting, but those on the other side say a new law is not necessary. Instead, some gun advocates say educating your kids about firearms would be a better solution.
“With all of the school shootings happening in our nation, it's become very clear to us that our thoughts and prayers are no longer enough,” said Rep. Jessica Miranda of Forest Park.
Miranda is co-sponsoring the bill with Rep. Brigid Kelly of Cincinnati. The duo is introducing a law that requires gun owners to keep firearms in a locked safe if there are children in the home.
