Kasich rally at Sharonville Convention Center..

..Same time, same place as Bill Goodman gun show. I'll leave pondering the general wisdom of that to the U.S. Secret Service, and focus on one particular item:

Electronic scrawling sign on side of building was advising people that additional parking was available at...the parking lots of nearby Princeton High School. I mentioned this possible (!!) conflict with the Ohio Revised Code to a detail cop directing traffic at the convention center; he promised to pass along my concerns via two way radio.

Maybe the Kasich Krowd could park on school grounds lawfully, but not so much the GUN show patrons.

Figured this was a story Tweed Ring would have enjoyed, hence posting it in this section. Oh, the irony.

Hmm, no comments? Kyle of Kyle's Gun Shop was none too pleased with this morning's events, according to his Facebook posts. Gun show patrons saw the parking mess and turned around.

Truth be told, the political event was held for Hamilton County Republicans and somehow, Kasich and his entourage decided to show up, don't know if they were invited. Right now that involves security, spokespersons, media, etc. Wish he'd have gone to Columbus instead and caught up on Governor work. You know, like we are paying him to do?

We've already elected him twice. If he want's us to do it a third time, he needs to NOT mess with our gun shows!

I think that's partly because Wally and Beaver (Ohio House and Senate) know that Ward (Kasich) is still "out of town on business" and they don't have to clean up their room just yet. (In this analogy, the Lt. Governor is "June" and unlike on the old show, she's powerless to act on her own.)

Okay, back to an earlier point: I have been informed that the Sharonville Convention Center leases Princeton School parking lots for overflow use during larger events, including the Goodman gun shows.

Does that make possession of firearms ORC-legal on school grounds? Apparently the city, school, and show promoter think so.

I especially want to hear from our attorney members on this, but all input is welcome.

Um...the laws are dumb and should be changed to reflect / protect the Rights of the people, as opposed to entrapping the law abiding. (a Right ceases to be a Right when it is given such imposition)

We definitely have the feds to thank for this, with their "Gun Free School Zones (version 2.0)" nonsense. The states and local school boards piled on with glee.
