Scope a Swiss 1911 for a Lefty?

Not sure if anyone on here knows, but I'm not getting any answers over on http://www.surplusrifle.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was hoping some folks could comment on if or how I could scope a 1911 for left handed shooting? Since I shoot left handed the typical scope mount that is offset to the left would not work. Thoughts?

I shoot my K31 just fine left handed. I just still use my right hand to cycle the bolt. I am naturally right-handed but left eye dominant. My vision is so much stronger in my left eye, I've just always shot rifles left-handed.

Scout scope? IIRC the barrel is free floated, which presents some difficulty, but an idea.

Ran across this tonight:

It says it's for a carbine but the elevation base they have it on looks the same as a 1911... assuming it would fit, I'm not sure how a scope that forward would do...

The rear sights are different- in terms of ranges- between the rifle and the carbine. But one would think the bases would be the same?

You will need an intermediate eye relief scout scope, fixed low power works fine. Basically, it's a bit like shooting with a red dot. Or, even better analogy, like using a scope on a pistol....you don't bring the gun up and find the scope then find the target, rather you see the target and bring the rifle up and the scope appears in your vision.

I've heard some of the rear sight base mounts can loosen up quickly, probably due to small contact area and a lot of free weight in the scope and rings to move under recoil.

In any case, that's going to be your easiest solution.
