Need Moon Clip Advice

So I finally got a revolver which is cut out to accept moon clips. I got three generic, one-size-fits-all moon clips which came with the revolver. I loaded one up just to see how it would work and it's a little bit too loose and wiggly for my tastes. I know from research that different clips are made to fit the brand of brass one is using. I use Starline, exclusively, and I see there is a moon clip offered specifically for it. What I don't understand is that when I look at the various moon clips for .357 mag, they all seem to be .025 - and that is true for the Starline specific clip as well. Does anybody know then, exactly where the difference is? They all look identical in configuration and thickness. I'm mainly asking because these things are pricey at $65 for 10 pieces. Thanks!!

You're always going to have wiggle with moonclips holding small caliber casings. My 9x19mm revolver is the same way. Loose as all get out.
Now the .45 moonclips don't have that problem. It's another advantage of fatter cartridges. They just hold better. My S&W 325 & 625 moonclips hold their rounds very solidly.

That does seem pricey as they run about $ 10.00-15.00 for 8 moon clips on Midway..

I wonder do the Moon clips for .45ACP and 9mm hold the rounds more securely as they have a nice groove in the cartridge to grip and prevent wobble ?

Probably some truth to that. Moon clips were, of course, first made for .45acp, using the extractor grooves of the cartridge casings. This whole idea of using them for .38/.357 came along much later.

Thanks everyone. Morne - that's not good news LoL, although as of yet I have nothing to compare mine with, so IDK if mine are typical or perhaps too loose. That said, they do work and I can quickly get them into the cylinder. I just don't like the "wormy" feel they have. Bruenor that's a good idea - I went straight to TK Customs website and I didn't really think to shop around. I'll have to see what Midway has to offer. The TK Customs site is what got me confused - their moonclips are all pretty much the same dimensions of .025, yet they list the exact brands of brass each will fit.

Thanks for the link whirlwind. I saw that store a couple years back, but had forgotten about it. Good prices and lots to choose from.
