.22lr Ammo Availability

Post by xd9allthetime »

I know there has been some difficulty finding .22lr. I was in the new Dunhams Sporting Goods in Piqua (Miami County) and they had quite a few bricks (525 rds) of Remington Golden Bullet value packs for $27.99. Not sure if that's a great price or not but if your in SW Ohio and need .22lr there's probably 50 boxes sitting on the shelves.

$27.99 + 7.50% sales tax (depending on county) = $30.09
$30.09 / 525 = $0.0573 per round.

http://gunbot.net/ammo/22lr/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; currently shows $0.09/rd as the lowest price, and you'd have to pay shipping, and declare the internet sale when filing your state tax. So comparatively speaking, yes that is a good deal.

I thought maybe in today's prices it was a good deal. I was fortunate to get the same ammo at a grand opening of Rural King when it was $14.99 a box but that was before Sandy Hook. Fortunately I picked up quite a few boxes at that sale which will last me a good long time.

Not too far down the road from there Old English has a pallet of higher grade .22 out for sale. Not bulk priced, but if you need some they have it.

I saw "bricks" of Federal Auto Match (325) at Dicks off Howe Rd in Akron the other day... And didn't buy any. As I was leaving I thought to myself... I think it's finally getting better. There for a while I wouldn't pass up any bulk stuff.

And I was just thinking "man, I still don't see 22 on the shelves", it's been a long time."

That said, I look at Fin and Great Lakes and WalMart, but I am not actually in the buyers market, so I'm not asking or really trying to track it down.

Saw a variety of CCI at a local shop yesterday. He said that he's been getting steady amounts and that the hoarders have stopped coming in.

Possibly going to the Indianapolis gun show this weekend. Been using .22 lr again so it's about time to look for replacement.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!
