Guns Stolen In Toledo Please Read!

Post by ArcherAce »

A friend’s house was burglarized on 1/18/07. The bold thieves drove up to his back porch, smashed in his sliding door, and made off with a huge Liberty safe.

Here’s a link to the story.

Keith is a hunting instructor, as well as an instructor at Ted Nugent’s Camp For Kids. He’s an ardent supporter of the RKBA and an avid hunter. He’s one of us and doesn’t deserve what happened.

If you happen to see any of these items, *PLEASE* contact your local police!

Liberty Colonial Safe Serial#194431
AMT .45 hardballer stainless steel Serial#A26119
Colt Peace Maker .22 with two cylinders Serial# g64793

Ruger 10/22 with a black Leopold scope Serial#237-04717
Marlin 17 HMR with a black Boris scope Serial#98688441

WOW! What a shame. Obviously they knew he had a stash.

I hope he can recover his collection.

Moved to (IMHO) a more appropriate - and more likely to be seen by all - forum...
Total repeal of ALL firearms/weapons laws at the local, state and federal levels. Period. Wipe the slate clean.

I posted it in the for sale forum thinking that someone in the market for a new gun might look in that forum.

If you think it will get more hits here, Navy, thanks.

Yes, his name is on the list! I'd sue!

I will keep my eyes open.
You are 5 time's more likely to die from a doctors malpractice than you are from a firearm.

Probably a toss-up. Your premise was valid, too...

IANAL, but that's one case I'd love to see someone take into a court room! If nothing else, it might make newspapers think twice about these lists...

I'd think the hard part for the case would be proving the newspaper's list was where the BG's got their info - unless the purps put it into a statement once caught.

Personally, I hate walking into court rooms (I've had a few victories, but I've also experienced too many times of having my derrier handed to me IMHO), but I think some things are worth doing for the greater good...

Sheesh. :x You buy a big butt Liberty safe to protect your guns and the buggers take off door hinges to get to it.

That just stinks. Cleveland's guns for bond money is going to encourage just this type of thing. Might be a good idea to visit the Akron gun show coming up-with a list of serial numbers.

The report says they took a door off its hinges, not the safe door. They they took the safe with them. I would hate to find my home robbed, my 700LB safe gone simply because I didn't take the time to install a couple bolts into the floor.

This was OBVIOUSLY a targeted act, no robber shows up with a truck, the manpower to move it, and a dolly strong enough to support that much weight all on pure chance.

One more reason to consider a Zanotti instead of a brand that requires hiring a local delivery company.

How much?

No prices listed on their website and no email contact.

I haven't priced 'em since the recent run-up in raw steel prices, but they were really competitive (within $100-200) with other safes in their same size range the last I checked.

When I called for a brochure and pricing info, they didn't give me any sort of hard sales push - they just took my contact info and sent the stuff out later that same day.

I think they'd sell more safes if they added pricing and online ordering to their site...

Hmm. I need more storage space... I'll make a call today and post the results later.
