The forums have been hosted for some time now out of my pocket. We are coming up on the annual domain renewal for ohioccwforums.org and I pay roughly $20/month to keep the forums online. I thought it might be fun to have a discussion about new product announcements at SHOT show this year. Is there anything anyone is hoping for? Anything anyone is excited about?
The PMAG 17 GL9 is a 17 round Glock 9mm handgun magazine featuring a new proprietary all-polymer construction for flawless reliability and durability over thousands of rounds. High visibility anti-tilt follower, SS spring, easily removable floorplate for cleaning, Dot matrix for mag marking, ridged floorplate edges for better grip, 17rd indicator windows. Drops free loaded or unloaded. The same boring reliability you expect from an OEM magazine. MSRP $15.95 - See more at: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015 ... lOnoq.dpuf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Of course it wouldn't be SHOT show without the bizarre and ridiculous.
It’s heavy at around 9 pounds empty. It’s expensive for a pump, with a retail price over $1,300. It’s got an awkward cheekpiece and a fairly unforgiving buttstock. It’s a Cheaper than Dirt exclusive. And it has a trigger pull that’s hard enough to make you think the safety is still on for a second.
I'm sure jokes on the name alone will be priceless. This "tactical" shotgun escalation war reminds me of the silly evolution of lightsaber complexity in Star Wars movies over the years.
I asked James of XDman.com to take a peek over at their stand at SHOT, to give me his opinions of the switchgear, and to see if he can't mount it to some XD-platform guns for me to get a good idea of what it would look like on mine.
Truth be told, I'll probably get one right off the bat, but I'll likely then wait until the second/third generation model to come out - hopefully with a green laser to supplement the light.
Mr. Glock wrote:All I want to know is when is Glock making a single stack 9mm out of their 380. That's it.
How come "Mr. Glock" doesn't already know that?
What I saw introduced by them at SHOT (on another gun forum) was a long slide 10mm (Model 40 I think?), and some of the longer barreled models now being available with optics-ready slide cuts. May have been one more thing but it must have really not caught my interest, forgot already.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!
