What is the best way to find out about shooting events such as IDPA around Ohio? Can't find much yet. Too early?
Thanks,
David

This forum lists some good events.
If you have an interest in IDPA, then check here for the Columbus area: http://www.defensivepistol.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also, check out Pickaway County Sportsman Range. That is where the IDPA shoots occur, and they often host other shoots that don't require you to be a member.
Also, there are quite a few on here that shoot the Appleseed's: http://www.appleseedinfo.org/search-sta ... ename=Ohio" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The NRA has a number of programs as well - not sure if there are any in this area though: http://competitions.nra.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Those might get your started at least.

The IDPA website used to have a nationwide listing of sanctioned matches, but I haven't looked there for a while. If you expand your options to include USPSA/IPSC matches as well, it'll give you more time behind the trigger and less behind the steering wheel. Between the two disciplines you could find one or more matches every weekend, at least in seasons other than winter.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

The IDPA site does not have much yet. Maybe its too early. Good idea to check the other organizations to. Thanks!Brian D. wrote:The IDPA website used to have a nationwide listing of sanctioned matches, but I haven't looked there for a while. Re: Shooting events listings advice requested
Most clubs won't have their schedules up for another month or so. I usually put a list together and send it out to all my shooting friends. Mainly covers schedules at PCSI, Ashland Lake Gun Club, Camp Perry popup shoots, Youngstown Rifle & Pistol, and clubs in Findlay & Wauseon. I'll usually post some info about the first match at each club here on OFCC even if I'm not going. Currently I believe the first match of the year will be at PCSI (usually how it works out) on March 8th. Weather permitting, I'll be going. Has become a tradition of sorts with me. Along with something loud and flashy to help wake the range gods up from their winter slumber!Flhrci wrote:The IDPA site does not have much yet. Maybe its too early.
