Tactical training firearm ranges in Ohio???

Post by Southwest134 »

I'm looking to fine out what firing ranges in ohio ACTIVELY offer tactical firearms training with realistic scenerio training, props and such. (Such examples from outside Ohio: ThunderRanch, Front Sight, etc)

I'm doing research to find out if there are any such ranges of this type in Ohio.

~Thanks

TDI has a national reputation.

Good luck getting in, they get booked about a year ahead of time.

But, keep an eye out for anyone wanting to sell their Fun'n'Gun spot - it is at TDI. Not the standard course work, but still a viewpoint of what they can offer.

I can recommend John McCreery who is a Suarez International instructor in NE Ohio and does all the tactical training you can think up at his range in Pierpont.

Never trained with, but closer to you there is Craig Flaherty http://www.suarezinternationalstore.com ... herty.aspx in Fredrickstown north of Columbus. The range he uses/used is SLYTAC Training.

^ Thanks for trying. :)

I know it sometimes takes a while for newer instructors/outfits to get off the ground in terms of their online presence. There was a recent example of a known instructor who hung his own shingle earlier in the year, only to be delayed in terms of his online presence for several months - I believe well over a half-year - because of webmaster issues.

Thanks again for trying, and for letting me (us? here on OFCC) know of another resource - one that's relatively near-by, to-boot! :D

I took their CCW course a while back and I still tell all my friends how much fun it was. Nothing like the typical CCW course. The instructor is awesome, and we did some really fun stuff on the range, check them out! I will defintely give them 2 thumbs up!

Glock Rock, thank you for the kind words. Just an FYI, if anyone would like to host a class, I am looking for a range closer to Cleveland east or west side. It would mean free training for the host.

Thanks!

Ladies and gentlemen, please note what the OP is asking for....he's looking for ranges that offer advanced/comprehensive physical facilities.

The way I'm reading this, it's got to have a shoot-house or such - not just props to drag on to a flat range.

I know of plenty of schools/instructors here in NE-Ohio that can offer very, very good weapons-manipulation and basic techniques/tactics training, and quite a few of these have plenty of props that they can bring on to a range. Similarly, there are those that offer force-on-force/integrated combatives. However, none in my past experience here in NE-Ohio can qualify as something like Thunder Ranch, Front Sight, Academi, TDI, etc., with the physical facilities that these schools own.

This is why I pursued follow-up questions with Glock Rock, for SLYTAC, as it seems from their description on BFA (http://forums.buckeyefirearms.org/viewt ... =6&t=16833" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) that they have such physical facilities.

And this thread reminds me that I need to get out to HKJ/Suarez's classes.

I'm trying to find an old post - a community college in NE-Ohio that offers firearms and EMS/fire classes... They have physical facilities, IIRC. Any help?
