Once again OFCC will be manning a table at the Westland Mall gun show - the next one is on the weekend of February 1st and 2nd.

The address is 4273 Westland Mall Columbus, OH 43228, and the times are from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday, and 9:00 to 4:00pm Sunday.
Any and all activists who want to partake the fun are invited to join us.

For those of you that have never worked a gun show, and might be nervous about talking to people about OFCC and gun rights - you will have access to 2 of the brightest people while at this event (You decide which 2 are the brightest though!). I was not sure what to expect when I started - but now I look forward to these shows.

This is a great opportunity to meet & talk to like minded people, meet some of your fellow OFCC members, and help out an organization that has done a lot to improve our gun rights in Ohio.

Also - admission to the show is free with the exhibitor badges that we get from the show management. That means that if you volunteer for a morning - you can get in before the crowd and check out the vendor tables before the doors open at 9am!

If you would like to volunteer, post in this thread, or send me a pm to let us know you can help. We will take any time you can give us!

Unless something (or the new wife) drags me out of town that Saturday, I will plan on being around for a couple hours. I'll even bring my own chair so I don't tear up someone elses. I visited the most recent show and you three were manning it at the time.
I will make it a point to introduce my anti-social, bump-ona-log self.

I'm hoping that I can make it down to help out at one of the Westland Mall shows this winter. Not sure if it will be this one or not, but If I can make it it will be on Sunday. I'll know for sure as it gets closer. :D

Another bump to light the topic back up for folks.

We have some commitments for the Feb 1-2 show, but the more the merrier!

Come out, meet some new people, and hang out with MWSY and Chuck - that in itself is worth the trip!

We really do get in some interesting conversations at these shows. One might think that everyone coming to a gun show are all of (nearly) equal mind on this topics of gun laws - but it is far from that as there are lots of different opinions. We have all sides that get represented, and we get to share lots of information.

We have a couple of people for Saturday - would love to have a couple (at least) for Sunday as well. Of course, we never turn down a volunteer - regardless of the time frame you can help out!

Turns out I do have a family commitment that is taking me out out town Fri-Sunday, that weekend. My appologies.
I will keep my ears on for other OFCC events, these shows included.
Stryker74 has got my number (creating a lil bit of accountability there.. not too anti-social after all :-)

If things change, come on down.

Don't worry about chairs. The show has plenty to go around.

Alright gang - we are a little more than a week away from the first gun show of 2014 at Westland Mall!

Still looking for some folks to help support our cause and spread the word about OFCC at the show!

You get free admission to the show for helping us at the table for a few hours, and you will get the chance to converse with like minded folks!

But you really should commit to this IN ADVANCE.

If you just walk in and say "I'm here to work at the OFCC table", you will only get weird looks.

Good point.

And the weird looks won't even be from us - we can't generally see the front entrance from our table. :D

Show is this weekend! Still time to volunteer! Shoot me a PM if you would like to come out and help at the table!

Look for our table if you come to the show - we have a large blue OFCC banner that sits on the table.

We are generally relegated to the back left corner of the Westland show - but I will update if that changes. (I will know when I go set up tomorrow evening.)

As Chuck likes to say:
Come out and stop by our table, which is going to be manned by two really bright guys and one freaking idiot. You can tell us who is who,,,,

Disclaimer: Guest volunteers are not included in Chuck's above statement.

Folks, this is an opportunity for you to get involved, and it is working toward the greater good. By volunteering to help at a gun show, you are helping to make people aware of OFCC, and where, and how, to stay informed about the CHL laws, and gun laws in general.

You may ask, how is that working toward a greater good? When people are informed, they tend to not do stupid things that affect us all. And by drumming up support for OFCC, you are helping us increase our membership numbers, which gives us a greater voice at the state house, and helps to fund our legislative efforts as well.

So I ask you to please take these things into consideration, and think about becoming an OFCC volunteer. It doesn't necessarily have to be this weekend, but I hope to see some of your smiling faces in the future! Oh, did I forget to mention, you may actually have fun hanging out at the table, and interacting with like minded folks, I usually do.

Alright, alright, alright! You are killing me!

Nah. I just PM'd Stryker to volunteer for Sunday morning. New to CC and OC. Should be interesting to talk to people.
