Got my call today. 1 week turn on approving my ccw. I was expecting 4 weeks.

I was very impressed when they told me it would take three weeks and I instead had a call in three days! Worth the drive from Columbus, since Franklin County wouldn't "pencil me in" for two months when I called.

Cheers,

Spenny

When I applied for my CHL I went to Madison. Seemed like every other option was already on an appointment schedule or somewhere inconvenient in my mind- like downtown Columbus. I'd likely go back to Madison when renewal hits, barring other circumstances. While applying, I was also reminded why I was there.. They had a crime stoppers notice posted in the office for infomation related to the killing of my son's grandfather from Mt Sterling. It felt like its where I was supposed to be.

Went to Madison County to turn in my app this morning. Very pleasant experience. I was kinda expecting it to be more of a "court" experience with so grilling and some looking down there nose is suspicion like why do you want this. But it was quite casual the officer was nice and it only took like 15 minutes.

Now the wait begins, he told me 3 to 4 weeks. I just hope he was under promising and they will over deliver.

I am concerned about one thing though, the whole every address since 18 thing. At 50 years old and have moved more than the average, im sure i missed some addresses and the dates are just estimates.

I have no offenses other Two seat belt violations and a few parking tickets thanks to my x.

Does anyone know how strict they are on the address thing?

This was my first time as well, but I told them I didn't remember some of the addresses I was at in college. I'm a bit younger(29) so I don't have many but there were at least two addresses that were left off. They didn't act like it was a big deal.

I'll let you know when I get my call. I was in exactly one week before you and they told me 4 weeks. I don't have any violations at all. No tickets or anything, so hopefully it's a quick process.

Good luck!

Thanks Ohioste please keep me posted as to when you get the call. It will give me a ball park idea as to when I can start chomping a little harder on the bit!

No worries - it is to the best of your knowledge. I was not able to list some house numbers from when I was 18-19 years old, but it did not cause any problems (I got my first in Madison county).

From the Application on AG's site:
SECTION IV
YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS SECTION OF THE APPLICATION BY PROVIDING, TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE, THE
ADDRESS OF EACH PLACE OF RESIDENCE AT WHICH YOU RESIDED AT ANY TIME AFTER YOU ATTAINED 18 YEARS OF AGE
AND UNTIL YOU COMMENCED YOUR RESIDENCE AT THE LOCATION IDENTIFIED IN SECTION II OF THIS FORM, AND THE
DATES OF RESIDENCE AT EACH OF THOSE ADDRESSES. IF YOU NEED MORE SPACE, COMPLETE AN ADDITIONAL SHEET WITH
THE RELEVANT INFORMATION, ATTACH IT TO THE APPLICATION, AND NOTE THE ATTACHMENT AT THE END OF THIS SECTION.

Just picked up my license from Madison County. We were told 4 week turnaround, and unfortunately they were exact. Almost 4 weeks to the day. At least we didn't have to schedule appointment for initial visit. All walk ins. And they have a couple Saturdays per month with hours.

Filed for my renewal on 3/4. Picked it up today. Time constraint appears to be BCI.

Three weeks and five days later, I got my call. It's ready to pick up.

Not too bad for only spending 10 minutes to go in and file.

Got a call from Deputy Mitchell that my license is ready for pickup!

Will be taking the trek to London in the morning to pick it up! :D

26 days not to bad since my appointment in Franklin was not until next Monday and I scheduled it before I went to London!

Nice! My holster is still probably three weeks away, so all the license has done for me so far is to show people, lol.

Holy crap, did you order a holster made by a blind Tibetan monk!
