Since no one from Toledo has jumped in yet, I guess I'll do it again. :)
I would appreciate someone else in the area to assist in this, as I am not as able to do some things as I use to be.

How about we go back to the location of the 2005 Inaugural OFCC Meet & Greet.

Frisch's Big Boy
3537 Secor Road
Toledo, Ohio

I suggest:
Saturday December 1, 2012, 5:00 p.m. till whenever the last of us leaves. 8)

So were having a M&G in Ohio this time? Bummer because last year we were such rebels to hold ours outside the state, yet only 5 minutes from my house.

 Yeah, I just thought we might try some place closer to an expressway.

Unless the people here want to go back to same place as last year? :?:
I am on good terms with mgt at both places.

I'm open to suggestions. 8)

Promotion of this and similar events.

Ideas for preparing an agenda, should there even be an agenda? Such as topics to be brought up for discussion, legislation we want to push, and how to push it effectively, open v concealed carry, interpretation and misinterpretation of laws, etc.

Anything else that another person can come up with that might be relevant?

Simplified, ideas on how to make a meeting like this more enjoyable and informative for those attending, and therefore more successful, so more people would like to attend future ones.

I enjoy just meeting with people and jaw-jacking on random topics very much, but I would like this to be informative on 2A topics, as well as being a congenial event.

Any ideas out there?

Jim

I personally avoid Big Boy, Perkins, Dennys and most establishments in that genre (cheap family).

One topic you mentioned I would avoid is the OC vs CC. To me there is just no reason to bring it up since everyone on here already has their opinion made (at least most people that would go to the MnG).

Maybe it would be possible to get something small as a raffle item..like a brick of 22lr or even a small gift certificate for a local vendor, if they would donate this stuff to promote their business. I was thinking something similar to the PITP, but with one item instead of a bunch. Also this depends on how many people show up if it would be worth while to anyone.

Obviously around here we have quite a few shops that I'm sure we could all share experiences.

Location is not locked in yet, where would you suggest?

Okay, what topics would you like to talk about?

Maybe it would be possible to get something small as a raffle item..like a brick of 22lr or even a small gift certificate for a local vendor, if they would donate this stuff to promote their business. Let me know (by pm for now, till everything is finalized) what you get and from where, I'll make sure the vendor gets mentioned favorably here.

For instance, at our OFCC Holiday MnG in this area last year, with the assistance of the fine people at Todd's Guns http://www.toddsgunshop.com/ located at Secor and Summerfield in Lambertville MICHIGAN, we had close to $700.00 in merchandise items donated for the drawings we held at an OHIO 2A groups sanctioned event.

Obviously around here we have quite a few shops that I'm sure we could all share experiences.
That would be a good topic to discuss.
Keep the suggestions coming folks. :)

Brian has already volunteered, and we have been in contact.

Would you be willing to approach the others you mentioned?

Let me know by pm if they are willing to participate or not, and in what manner.

I don't want to denigrate anyone that is unable or unwilling to participate, for any reason, by "outing" them here.

However, I am more than willing to promote them if they do participate. 8)

I think all of the Fricker's are posted. Perrysburg and Sylvania are posted for sure. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread - once plans are firmed up, I'd love to meet some of you all. And I don't mind Big Boy on Secor...it'd take me all of three minutes to drive there. :)
