While we now have the "luxury" to carry in many ways that were not previously legal, we as responsible CHL'ers need to use common sense.
I feel compelled to share a recent incident that occurred to a buddy of mine.

My buddy had his firearm (inside a holster) on the front passenger seat of his car when he was rear-ended sharply.
The gun and other items quickly found themselves on the floor.

I'm curious, with the new law having been in place for a couple months now, have you dramatically changed your method of car carry?
If so, have you considered implications of your method?

I personally haven't made any dramatic changes with the exception of periodically storing in the console.

No changes here. Really, the best thing the new law did for me (as far as the car carry rules) was eliminate any question as to "clip" holsters. I carry a .22 Magnum NAA mini-revolver with the fold up grip/holster as a BU-BUG (backup BUG, AKA "oh, #@$#! gun) and clip it to the inside of my boot. When folded, it completely covers the trigger (although it's a single action anyway). My working theory was that it was designed, manufactured, marketed and sold as a "holster" and therefore was, in fact, a holster.

However, when the law required a holster, there could have been questions as to whether or not my theory would hold. I was willing to take the hit on being wrong given the substantially low likelihood of having to test it and what I felt was a meritorious argument. Now, no problems.

As far as tossing one on the seat...no, i wouldn't do that. That might be convenient but it's far too unsecure as your friend discovered.

For me no change what so ever....If it's not in my holster it's in my glove box when I can't carry o/s of the car...I feel better when I have control always.....

When I'm driving down town Cinci I sometimes remove my car gun from the console and lay it within reach. It's rare and usually when I'm in Over the Rhine. I find I do other things when having to quick stow it for a run into certain enumerated CPZ's that I find the change refreshing. When I come out me being in the car on the street parking and handling the gun making before it a technical violation , now no rules.

I lay my gun on the seat (no holster) when I am within a couple of hundred yards from work, finish taking off my holster, and then put my gun in the glovebox. I don't want to be handling it in the parking lot where someone might see it.

Other than that, it is still holstered on my hip.

I still carry in an IWB or pocket holster, or in the console while in a car. I still lock it up in the glove box secure-it safe or console just like before. The only difference is now I can "fondle" my beloved piece with the car running as I lock it up or change storage locations.

Similar to what I do. I've always been concerned about having to park my car in the way back of our lot and THEN putting my pistol in the glove box. One way or the other, that is odd and something that a person (well meaning or not) would take note of.

Beyond that, I really haven't had any major changes in my behavior. Well, not true, I had Chipotle for lunch while carrying, and enjoyed some excellent food at another upscale restaurant here in C-Bus while carrying. No issues whatsoever.

Yes, now I drive down the highway twirling it on my finger. I'm trying to beat my personal best record which is 42.4 miles of continuous twirling without an accidental discharge. I thought I had it beat last night but now I have to replace my windshield...

Why do we always drive DOWN a highway and not UP it ?

EP. Can you clarify whether you broke the window with a bullit or the gun went threw ?

My rearview mirror needs to be replaced. I guess My CZ75 was too heavy to hang there

Well, seeing as that I got my CHL after the laws went into effect.....

However, there is no WAY I would ever consider letting a loaded gun go around loose in the car. If it's not on my hip, it will be in a holster that is screwed into a solid piece of the car.

I have done "naughties" (under the old law), by placing my hand on the gun and adjusting it on the belt. At least I think that was prohibited by the old law.

I've made no change when I'm wearing a shoulder holster. However, when I wear a belt holster, I now will use an under the steering column mount for the gun as the seatbelt makes quick access next to impossible in my cars.
