A bad guy came and said somone tried to shoot me!!

Post by rifleman308 »

I was brought to the door by the neighbor knocking and when I answered the girl that lives next door was standing next to some scum bag and he said can you give me a ride home someone tried to shoot me. I went straight to the phone and called 911 and gave a description of the guy.

When I returned he had run and my neighbor was still standing there. I had come to the door with my gun on and a badge sewn on my shirt. I think that is what made him run. I told the girl to get in her house and lock the door.

When the Police showed up they came in force I mean real force. 2 Officers on bikes and 4 others in cruisers. We described the guy and just a few minutes I could hear them call for him to stop.

They caught him trying to run. He was hiding next to a retired Officers house nexd door! In just 15 minutes from the call they had him in cuffs in front of the house.

I had my gun on ( Springfield XD 45 ) and they never asked me for anything. I had my license in my hand when they came up but what I didn't know was the guys that got caught where trying to steal a car right up the street and they got busted by the owner and one got smashed in the face by the owner. COOL!!

Police where here in a hurry and he got the cuffs!! I cant believe it. It was like watching COPS live!! The Kettering Police was just AWSOME.

After I gave the statement they came and told me that they caught both of the guys. They where very professional and friendly. Man it was better than........

I did take off my gun when it was all settled and they where in the cruiser just to make the Officers feel at ease. It woke the whole neighborhood and they where all at my house talking. The Police could see that we are tight neighbors. I am jumping for joy!!!!!! It will be in the Ketttering times under the blotter I am sure.

The badge is because I am a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor for the State but the Gun shop is not in Kettering.

I know what you were thinking Fire hehe, that it was a CHL badge...

I think we ALL need badges, kind of like how the army all got black berets, we can all feel important then :-)

Oh don't get me started on the berets!

Anyways, I'm glad everything turned out allright.

Take care and stay safe!

Maybe I'm dee dee deeeeee tonight but I read the post about 4 times and don't get it. How did your neighbor from next door come to be on your front porch with some other dude? Could you elaborate?

Cops--2.....Bad guys...00

Post by rifleman308 »

I thought it was fun running this guy down and having him hauled away. In the beginning I thought it may be some ploy to get into my house for a home invasion but I wasnt about to let him in my house. Gun or no gun he was staying outside. My family will not answer the door when I am not home unless they know the person. The score: Kettering PD--2......bad guys--00

The bad guy knocked on her door first looking for a ride home and she came over because he said somone tried to shoot him. It was the owner of the truck he tried to steal. Thats when the bad guy got a punch in the mouth and he ran over to her house first. He was busted by the PD!!!!!!

What happened to the guy who's car was being stolen? I hope he didn't get into trouble for hitting the guy. Glad it didn't turn out worse for you and your neighbors.

I dont know why it double posted. O well. I thought it was one of those CHL Badges. Those things will get you in trouble. We confiscate them for obvious reasons and per a letter issued by the Attorney General about them.

Ok I think the CHL badges are stupid, but what legal grounds do you use to take somebodies property ?? even if it IS stupid ?? I would rather you confiscate spinning hubcaps :-)
