I got a regular passport photo from Walgreens. It only took a few minutes and it was cheap. I think Walmart does it too.

I stand corrected. Thank you Cruiser. My sheriff's office uses a digital camera and does their own.

My CCW class took and printed photos for us. Nothing fancy, just a digital cam and a small photo printer. For my Florida license I just had my wife take and printed one off my photo printer.

If you are a member of AAA, they will take the photo and give you two prints for free. As other have reported, Wal-Mart also does this for a small fee.

If you have a digital camera, just stand in front of a wall and smile. Print it out on nice photo paper. As long as it's close to 2x2, I don't think it matters. The first thing they did here was to GLUE it to the paper. I'm not really sure why they need the pic, since they take their own, at least here.

Be sure to tell them what you're getting your photos for and check to see if they post "No Guns" on their doors. Many AAA's don't like us.

It really depends on the AAA office you go to. I ended up paying for mine at the AAA (and I'm a Plus member there) when I got my passport, and then found I could do it cheaper at Kinkos when I had it done for the CCW. Also, Walmart and JCPenney portrait studios will do it, but I don't know how they compare in price to what I did at AAA and Kinkos.

I'm assuming you have a Florida non-resident license? I've heard several other posters mention having one; what is the advantage?

A Florida license lets you carry in another dozen or so states. It's fairly expensive, over $100, but you can use the same training certificate that you used for Ohio, so there is no additional training expense.
