We had a good time at Golden Corral for the Cincinnati M&G. Jediskipdog set the thing up and it went quite smoothly. Door prizes included a NanoVault 100 car gun safe, a Streamlight ProTac 2L flashlight, a 9mm/.38/.380/.357 boresnake, a .22/.223/5.56 boresnake, an OFCC coffee mug, a Little Miami Tactical hat and a 1929 calendar with a shooting theme (1929 calendars work for 2013). Jediskipdog, my wife Dorie and I met there about 5:30 and got the nametags set up. People started arriving at 6:00 with the last person coming in at 7:30. We broke up about 8:30. Conversation was good and camaraderie was apparent. Various conversations included the new range in Blue Ash, the HB495 hearings, the Kansas City shootings and, of course, Bob Costas. Mark Reising brought in some WWB rounds that were seriously damaged straight out of the box. He was concerned that the WWB rounds had multiple headspace markings from the same box and said that it appeared that they were floor sweeping rejects. This raises concerns about the use of WWB. One was a 9mm that was flattened on two sides and the other was what was marked as a .380, but appeared to be a 9mm casing with the bullet pressed down to the point where the top of the casing rolled inward. The casing was definitely longer than the normal .380 ones.

For those who missed it, you missed a good time and you can hopefully make our next one.

I wanted to send a person thank you to all of those that came. My goal (if my work schedule gets better) is to have them quarterly and try different restaurants throughout the year. If only 5 show up, that's fine by me, the conversations are so much better in person than on the forums (no offense meant for anyone here, just in person is well, much better.) Thank you again and thank you Mike (scheming) for assisting.

Thanks again for setting this up. A quarterly meetup would be a good idea. Like you said, doesn't have to be a large group. Just whoever, whenever.

It really was fun, except the getting lost in the dark part! Thanks Jedi and Mike for all your work on this. It was great to finally put faces to some forum names and great to see the familiar faces. I met everyone I could get to. Thanks, Jedi, for leading me back to the neighborhood. Maybe I should give the GPS another chance!

It was definitely nice to meet everyone. Had some okay food and some good conversations. And luckily my GPS is better than average because I didn't have any issues. :P
