Check in with The "J Crew"--that would be jediskippdogg and Jake. If there's a late cancellation they'll know about it.

I''ve already gotten some of the stuff needed for this weekend into the car. Can't control the weather but we can take a variety of clothes so as to be comfortable whether it's 7 degrees or 77. Really hoping it's not so muddy in spots as to suchk the boots off our feet, more than that I won't be bold enough to ask for.

You don't want the "complete" experience?

Calling for rain on Saturday unfortunately. That red clay mud will be sticky if it gets enough rain into it.

I am personally planning for boots that lace and tie - and a spare pair shoes to change into.

Boots will be a great idea.

It rained quite a bit today.

There was light snow on the ground at TDI Sunday morning, but that soon melted off. A chilly start to the day - I saw lots of gloves on in the morning - but it turned out to be a great day for the event.

I ended up putting my jacket back on later in the afternoon - there was a breeze that blew right down the rifle range - but that helped me in the multiple draw from concealment scenarios.

I had a spectacular time yesterday. Being able to shoot that much practical application in a day, along with having some of the smartest and most proficient shooters to give you pointers - I am not sure I could ask for much more out of this event.

Other than maybe speed up time to get to next year's event....

Had a great time at Fun n Gun Yesterday. Learned a bunch, lots of knowledgeable help.
Had a little extra training in my draw and am considering a new holster and placement. :)

Drawing, moving and shooting is great training, everything is done in a super safe/professional manner.
I was corrected in a friendly manner and will work on improving several skills.

My thanks to all the OFFC people, the IDPE people and of course the TDI people, that put this on.

PS... My wife enjoyed yesterday, and as a new shooter really appreciated all the patience and help she was given.
Special thanks to the gentleman who helped her with learning a better way to reload her revolver.

Dressed for the weather so was pretty comfortable. First time to visit TDI, hopefully not last.
Thoroughly enjoyed it; Group A was a great bunch of folks.

Thanks to all who organized and made it happen!

Hahaha, thankfully we have no "Dave Shooter" in our group... 'cause Dave was a heckuva nice guy & would have been a shame if someone had shot him.

Good to have you here, Dave. We have a somewhat active Handloading discussion area you might wanna check out on these forums. As for this organization, it's a fine one to get on board with and support if you decide to go that route. IMO, OFCC has done more for gun rights in Ohio than anyone.

For others... ya oughta see this guy shoot. He's right, we had a fantastic group of shooters in Group A, but his shooting was the finest in our little group. 8)

I had a great time, and found out how rusty I am.

Is anyone interested in posting their scores? I could start a second thread. I'm not proud of my score but I will be willing to post it if a few others are also open to suffering from the same embarrassment. I know a couple of misses and a procedural sure add up quick. Come to think of it, IDPA is a silly game just like golf. What kind of sport is it where the low score wins? That's just not right.

If I get a couple of positive replies here I'll start the other thread.

I'll post mine. I plan on computing them at work tonight.

Okay. I'll start a new thread titled Fun-N-Gun Scores in this section of the site.
Here is the link: http://ohioccwforums.org/viewtopic.php? ... 2#p4264632" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe a mod can "sticky it"

Here are some pictures from 2014 Fun 'n Gun. You may recognize a certain Chuck person playing around in the barricades. 8)

I wanted to thank all of the people that put this event together. It was a wonderful experience, taught me that there is a tremendous amount to learn, and how boring the normal range experience truly is. I wish I could go back this weekend, but instead I'll have to wait until October for one of the first available handgun 1-2-3 3 day weekends. I would highly recommend this to anybody that's never gone.
