I've shot them mounted on the slide, and thought they were great initially. My second time around I found it difficult to find the dot while doing transitions and moving, as the slide, myself, and the target were moving in different planes at different velocities.

I'd like to try one mounted on the frame, which would keep the dot motion to a minimum under recoil and make it faster follow up shots and easier to experiment with different techniques to see exactly how they impact thigns better.

I've taken to adding a mini red dot to the 1:00 position on the forward handguard rail of my AR (due to moving to magnified optics on the top rail), and I like the 3.5 for that duty.
