What model S&W revolver is this?

This is where you can talk about all equipment issues; firearms, ammunition, magazines, care & repair, holsters, gun cases, etc.

I was seeing Model 19s yesterday in the $650-775 range at the gun show, average was the same for 686 pre-lock guns. I don't know what the actual selling prices were, but the show was pretty lightly attended and not a lot was selling. S&W magnum wheelguns have gone up quite a bit in the last 5 years, but then again, there is no Obama panic right now and prices could be flattening.

Others here probably have a better handle on the prices, but Gunbroker tends to be a little high if you review For Sale vs Completed Sale, remembering that some areas of the country tend to have a higher priced market.

This is true as well... I'm not out to rip anyone off, including myself lol...Just figure the 19-4 I have should be able to be swapped even for a similar S&W revolver with a 4" barrel.
"Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home
Let me die in a pile of empty brass."
Amen

I can't get his picture to load and your resized picture is an awful thing to do to a S&W revolver.

Only thing I am sure of at this point is that it's blued, adjustable sight and is definitely a magnum revolver. If it is absolutely a .357 then it's either a Model 19 or a Model 27. If I have to guess (and with evidence presented we are FORCED to guess :P ) then I'll say it's a 19.

Unless they made some wacky variation (with S&W ya never know...) then it sure isn't a 586. And that makes the whole thing a little disturbing if the guy offering to trade a revolver has no clue what he owns.

Looking forward to hearing an update on this.
+1 on the Model 19...
Great minds think alike, unfortunately so do stupid ones...
