Looking forward to tomorrows shoot.
Weather looks good and hopefully the wind (tonight) and sun (tomorrow) will dry things up a bit.

If you get this in time, bring extra mags/ammo.
Looking to change things up a bit on the plates.

So, I think the new format worked pretty well.
We didn't get done any faster, but I for one know I shot alot more and that's a good thing in my book.

What did you guys think?

Does Salem Hunting Club have a Facebook? I looked and did not see one. I don't check this board very often and always forget about the Concealed Carry Shoots, otherwise I would probably never miss one. It might generate some more interest from local people too since things spread pretty quickly on Facebook.

Just a suggestion, and if you already have one please post a link?

Thanks!

Thanks Andy.

BTW, if anyone is interested, there is an IDPA match @ Youngstown Rifle - Pistol this am.
It's a short drive for me so I'm heading there soon.
They put on a nice match.

Info here...
The cost of the match is the same as last year, $ 11 and $ 5 for a
reshoot. The gates open at 9:30 AM and the match begins at 10:00 AM.

Also, the club has built a 5th finger/bay. The April IDPA match is only
using 4 of the fingers. Glenn has decided to set up a plate match in the
5th bay. This will be the "Pendulum" stage from the steel challenge. You
can look it up online to see what it looks like. Its 5 targets shot from
low ready with 5 starts. Your worst time is thrown out and the other 4
are added up to give you a final score. Minimum is 25 rounds if you
don't miss any. I'd bring at least 50 rounds because you can shoot it
more than once if they would like to better your times. IDPA guns and
also 22 cal revolver and semi-auto are also allowed. Plus a single
action revolver class. The cost of this steel stage will be $ 5.
Maybe I'll see some of you?

How many rounds you guys use this time with the "new format"?
Dave's group must be rapid fire maniacs as they shot the plate stage 4x.
5 shots if done clean. (I think his group shot it differently than my group did).
My group had up to 12 rounds to complete that stage with (2) mags) of 6 rounds.

The one stage I set up was (2) mags of 6.
We shot it right to left and left to right. (24 total rounds)

The plates...again, accuracy plays a huge part.
Everyone shot that stage at least 2x.
I think some said they shot as much as 70 total rounds for the event (I guess how you do on the plates will factor in).

Jake,

I liked the way the match was run last Thurs, did seem like less waiting and more shooting. I thought it was cruel and unusal punishment to have our group run thru the paper plate stage twice though...at least we had good light  .

BTW, I really enjoyed the wall/barrel stage.
