If anyone is available to help Anthony at Goodman's show this weekend @ Dayton, he as well as OFCC would be most appreciative.

We're a 100% volunteer organization.
We just can't get things done without people willing to get involved.

This show would be a great way to start.http://ohioccwforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=51962" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks!!

People!

With yesterdays success regarding HB45/HB54 are you telling me that you're not motivated to get out and help the cause?

There are a lot of people ("gun people") who really have very little clue as to what is going on in "our" world.
They don't all use the internet, so the only way to reach them is "word of mouth".

OFCC needs help. We can't to this alone!

As of now the July 9/10 show at Berea would be the next one I could help with. I know it's a ways out yet, but keep me in mind if you want a table on those dates in Berea.
OFCC has a table for that show.
Anyone looking to jump on board?

Thanks Jake,
I'll be starting a thread for volunteers within the next week!

OFCC is currently looking for sharp individuals who are willing to volunteer some of their personal time to help further our cause.
It involves educating interested parties as to what OFCC is and does.
Discussing current issues (and we have plenty of new issues, SB17 and "Notification") and inviting them to consider a membership.

We do this at gun shows across Ohio.
Here are a couple links for promoters who are sympathetic to our cause.
Good Folks!

Using these links, if you see a date where you can work a show with us, please contact me and I'll try to get a table for the particular date you'd like (pls. give some advanced notice as last second doesn't always fly so well.).

http://www.gunshow.net/default.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Dayton Hara Aug. 6-7th)

If there are other shows you're aware of in your area, and want me to contact them, I will.
Just give me a link to their site.

Thanks!!
:D

I'd love to do another show in Dayton, I've just been very busy the last few months. If there is someone else available for one of the upcoming Bill Goodman show please chime in and I'll try to clear some time.

I have to admit that it's a little disappointing that we have not had more people step up to volunteer.

Right now the time is ripe to get out and educate folks in regards to all the great work that OFCC does on behalf of legal gun owners.
There are HUGE issues we're dealing with right now that have put us in the limelight.

Please, for anyone on the fence post about working a gun show on behalf of OFCC, please feel free to pm me for details.
We're looking for well spoken individuals who can represent the organization in a good light.

I've made a 6 month commitment to the church to be on the cleaning crew so Saturdays are unfortunatly out for the next few months. Sunday follows I'll be in church for service. After my cleaning comittment I may be able to work a few.

It really isn't hard for anyone on the fence. You just need to be talkative. Know the current gun issues and tout the website and org. When all else fails just talk about what you find useful and important.

I should be able to do the Berea Show again on Oct 22/23! Would like to be able to do it in Aug, but I have an event at our shooting club that weekend.

...Sorry Jake, but IMO you are chasing away a big percentage of people that might like to help but are a little afraid of the "Well spoken individuals " thing. IMO you have to just get the message across and that does not take a lot of effort...I'm certainly not well spoken but can carry on a good conversation about OFCC. If I don't have a answer to a question I'll ask the Table Leader for help....Just trying to help......
It's a lot of fun to work a table, you meet all kinds of people...And make new friends...Besides, the hot dogs are pretty good at the gun shows.. :)

I'd have thought The PITP would have inspired some folks to get involved.
After watching the videos, I've been reinvigorated! :D

edit to add:

While I truly appreciate the comments, I'd love to hear from people saying that they are able to volunteer, as opposed to why you're unable.
OFCC understands that life only allows so much free time to do the things we want to do.

I know that I could use at least an additional 2-3 days a week and possibly 4-6 more hours per day to get the things done I need to do.
