There are always untruthful reports about people being bussed in from out of state.

Nah, I was referring to legitimate local voters, who may find it hard to get to the polls themselves, due to lack of transportation. I think the left is better at it.

I know someone who is a Liberal Democrat and she hasn't driven out of state and bring them back here to get anyone. She usually doesn't even leave the town she's driving around in, she usually doesn't have to. There are plenty of people on her list that are (with a personal visit from her encouraging them to vote) who are willing to be driven to the polls, or need assistance with filling out an absentee ballot, and probably wouldn't be bothered to vote or show up on their own without someone
pressuring, cajoling, I mean encouraging and offering support for them to do so.

Now I will say that she has volunteered to help out if needed with elections in another state on occasion, but she doesn't vote in that state, nor does she bring any residents of Ohio to vote in that other state. This is all perfectly legal, at least in Ohio. It is allegedly NOT legal in Michigan.
Giving people free stuff, like food, etc. just to get people to vote is not legal under federal law, but one certain group has found ways to do that and technically not be in violation of the law.

You are correct, but there's more to it than that. The left is better at other things besides transportation. In the post above, the person I know who does this doesn't merely drive people to the polls if they ask for help, she does what she calls canvasing. asking people if they've voted, and if they haven't voted do they need help in voting, and if they don't need help and haven't voted she and others encourages them to vote, either early or absentee or election day. She only goes to locations and people that she is likely going to have the greatest chance of success, even has lists of names of people she's helped out before. All of this is legal in Ohio. Some of these people are homeless, but yes, the homeless can legally vote also.

And I'm voting yes... because I never thought the Ohio Constitution should be that easy to amend by either side.

If the majority vote "no" on this issue, outside interests will be able to fund special election initiatives to easily amend the Ohio Constitution and do away with our gun rights under Article I, Section 4 of the Ohio Constitution.

A vote of YES will require future amendments by special election to require a 60% majority for the amendment to pass. Early voting is now in progress.

The Secretary's report has the pro and con arguments spelled out. Even better the text of the amendment starts on page 3 and is very easy to read. The changes are shown with some words lined though and text that is added with an underline.

Like Joe Frazier "Down goes Issue 1!" Not happy about it but the "vote no" advocates worked and hustled harder.

I fully expect that the anti's will now in turn use this to try to push gun control, repeal of 9.68, etc... now that we are past the Issue 1 election. Some have already talked about it, and they are always looking for new and creative ways to get around things (Exhibit 1: Biden's ATF)

And the real problem is, if you look at the map of which counties voted against Issue 1... it's exactly what you would expect, primarily the urban areas. And these people will likely vote for gun control constitutional amendments as well. It's a microcosm of what you see nationally... Pennsylvania largely votes red but the cities make the state go blue... the US largely votes red, but the concentrated populations of CA, NY, etc... make the country elect Obama... or Biden... or whoever.

Very true. And look where all the "no votes" came from. Very heavy Democratic counties (per a report on WHIO). Rural counties were "yes votes".
And we're suppose to be a Red state.

The left heavily promoted the idea that this would adversely impact voting rights and adversely affect minority groups. That's always a difficult argument to counter, even when it's not true. Add the abortion issue to it and we didn't really have a chance.

The idea that infuriated me the most from the "No" ads was: "This will eliminate the one person, one vote rule!"

No, no it won't. Not in the least!

It's an outright lie, but political ads say some unbelievable sh!t and get away with it.

There is a saying that says "be careful what you ask for because you may get it."

Just like the Republicans pushed through the Patriot Act then the democrats weaponized it against conservatives; I'm hoping that conservatives can take the loss of Issue One and turn it against the leftists in this state.

To do that it's going to take just as much motivation and initiative that the democrats and anti-gunners have.
