"Separate" probably only needs to assume that "you can stay out of there and still buy your cow parts or whatever you came in for"....
More than just consensus; it was an AG's opinion.

Tom:

Thanks....

Couldn't recall whether the consensus was a consensus or a note from the AG.... :D

The AG definitely posted a "hotel lobby" exemption - concerning bars in hotel lobbies - that is about the same thing: "stay out of the bar."

Unfortunately, we need to work on the "just stay out of the bar" part about restaurant carry - to make it so....

Stu.

I suspect that either it is an uninformed or purposely uninformed employee/manager or the (as usual) deceitful anti's at work.

It looks Scott like needs to make another contact.

Yes, I do believe in open carry. An openly armed man is clear in his intentions. Concealed carriers are sneaks and skulkers and elitist, boot licking, political contribution making, running dog lackies of The Man. <wink> (thx grumpycoconut - OpenCarry.org)

They apparently figured out that they could post the parking lots a bit thereafter.

Not to pick on you, but old news :D .

(I think they were the first chain to post a parking lot.)

Regards,
Actually, that is their National Corporate Policy. The signs likely went up after Shall Issue passed because before that, there was no legal concealed carry in Ohio. There is a Prime Outlet mall at the intersection of I-69 and the Indiana Toll Road(I-80). They post as well in Indiana, at the entrances to the parking lots. My wife refuses to go there anymore because they deny her right to carry. Letters to Corporate have been ignored. Just don't shop at Prime Outlet malls.

Brad:

Right....

Stay away....

Nothing special about the one in Lodi except my little sister liked the egg rolls in the food court....

It was kind of handy, though v.s. another few miles to an Arby's or McD's, and some of the former are also posted in the Akron & Canton area, but at least not their parking lots.

Stu.

I'll definitely check. My wife shops where quite often. (I couldn't change her mind and I do like their wine selection.)

Same thing here with my wife.
We have a Sparkle market here that has security cops, armed to the teeth so much you would think they were lookin for a tacticle situation daily.lol Combat boots and tacticle eqipped.
Anyway when I go there I leave the gun in the glove box or i don't go in period.Wife thinks it's nuts for me to be that way but i told her that is my choice. At least she is going places with me now and I'm always carrying.
Sparkle will never change their policy though.

Ron:

Agreeing with Cruiser....

No way I'd go in there without my own weapon.

I've been some kind of rent-a-cop for nearly 40 years, and while I consider myself somewhat above the usual crop of wannabes  , I'd scare me in that configuration.

(Note to the rentals who may be on board: Admit it guys - even if you trust yourself and a few of your co-workers, the boss seems to hire some real surprises once in a while. I was offered Lieutentant's bars by a major nationwide security organization strictly on the word of a buddy who was working for them. He was OK, but this was "come on down and get fitted for your uniform!" Hiring practices like that bother me....)

TRADER JOE's DUBLIN: Looks Like the CPZ signs are down!!

Post by Scott »

Did a driveby at Trader Joe's Dublin today and did not see the signs anywhere--I couldn't linger since the youngest was due to get off the school bus--only things I could see where the signs used to be were bits of tape still stuck to the paneling.

I think we have another victory, folks!!

This little battle may be won but we still have a very big war to fight. Its also amazing how fickle it can all be also.... We could be facing the very same signs in a day or two... It makes me tired
