It's a Glock. Fanboys will buy it, even if its capacity were two rounds of .25 ACP. :P

But seriously, it's about time they joined the crowd. Small single-stack nines are immensely popular. Not having one available is leaving money on the table. Heck, the LEO BUG market for off-duty will be impressive all by itself.

The SA XDS holds more ammo for virtually the same dimensions. This Glock isn't quite as small as the true pocket nines that only hold 6 in the mag like a Kahr PM-9. Though honestly, both the Kel-Tec PF-9 and Ruger LC9 both hold 7 in the mag and are true pocket guns.

It will succeed. It won't be the best gun in this niche. Name brand and marketing play larger roles in who buys what than any of us would care to admit. Glock is putting out a good enough product in a good market segment with excellent marketing. That beats the perfect product in the perfect market segment with poor marketing.

Good for Glock. Good for Glock owners who wanted a pocket single-stack 9 (and let's be honest, if round count is your hangup then Glock has plenty of other products to scratch your itch). I won't be buying one, but then I am generally averse to both non-magnum small calibers and semi-autos in general.

I am a Glock fan...and I say: NO, THANKS, I'm good! I realize they are competing in the market by adding another model, but also risking tarnishing the brand by internet junkies with stoopid expectations. There are plenty of online complaints about the Glock42- more having to do with the strange quirks of the .380 round. They should have put this one out first, then followed with the .380.

If I need to carry, I just won't wear my skinny jeans, speedos, or spandex. I also have a PM9, but certainly I don't like it nor trust it as much as my Glock26 nor Glock19.

I was kidding the owner of the indoor range I shoot at this morning, asking how many questions he gets daily that go something like: 'Do you have that new Glock model 43 in yet? No? Do you know when you'll be getting them?' Seeing as how I got there five minutes after opening, he hadn't had his first call/inquiry of that type...yet. However, when I came back in after shooting, he was hanging up the phone and held up two fingers, along with a jibe in my direction about being a wisenheimer.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I think if a mag extension is available that adds a round and if MagGuts makes a slim follower/spring assembly that allows an extra round, you'll be looking at an 8+1 round pistol in a nice light and slim package and that would be a game changer.

XDs 9 with extended mag + 1 = 10 .
And I'll add that I have no problem concealing the butt of the pistol when carrying in that fashion.

Personally, I think if you're going with a subcompact single-stack then carrying with the flush mag in the gun, but the extended in your mag carrier, is the best of both worlds.

Me? I can conceal a howitzer without a problem. OK, OK, since I've lost weight it's probably more like a 75 mm rather than the old 155 mm, but still... :P   8)

That is the best way to conceal (flush mag) and then the finger book helps grab the reload.

Thankfully, they don't have to worry about seeing a bulge elsewhere in your trousers either

Personally, I now carry with the mid-mag SA just came out with (+1 round) and an extended mag (+2 rounds) as spare. I was carrying a flush mag with Pearce extension, but the +1 mag is as easy to conceal as the flush with the Pearce extension. If I added a bit more cant to my holster I could probably carry the +2 as easily but I like the cant the way it is.

I have yet to buy any of the new "mid-mags". I might prefer them to the Pearce grips, which I stopped using on my flush mags. But I normally use the extended mags in the pistol with another one in a mag carrier as extra. (A total of 19 rnds)

Back on topic, I think the GLOCK 43 is too little ...too late. But I also think GLOCK will sell a bunch of them 'cause GLOCK !
Just not to me. :|

I just saw a review of them..I like these guys..The Glock 43 looks solid to me.

Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home
Let me die in a pile of empty brass."

It's everything the glock 42 should have been! I think it's a bit pricey at $600 MSRP, I got my XDS at a steal when it was on sale for $450 for a bitone 9mm 4.0 with the gear up promo I wound up with 5 mags for that price. When you can get a shield for less than $400 all day long I wouldn't even look at a G43. The XDs is worth the extra loot because of the grip safety, I don't see any reason to spend $600 on a glock when I can get a shield for $200 less.

Not that I disagree with your general point, but the XD grip safety is largely irrelevant (Yes, the XD striker is fully cocked vs Glock's half cock...I'm talking about real world usage.) Sort of like the magazine safety on a Browning High Power.
