Wish I still had the S&W 3906 that I sold years ago. Had I known then what I know now.

Over the years I have accumulated 7 pistols, 3 rifles and a shotgun that I wouldn't sell or trade away. Can anyone explain what it is about guns that does that to ya' ?

I worked at a gun shop while in high school / college, so I've bought and sold at least my fair share. Of those that I've let go, many I don't miss. The first few that come to mind are a couple Bushmaster ARs, Browning BLR in 7mm Rem Mag, Sig P220, a Mini-14, Walther P22, Winchester 1300.

Only two or three I've regretted:

A Ruger Gov't Competition Mark II (KMK-678GC)...so I bought another one...sold it....regretted both. You'd think I would learn.

Third is a simple 870 Turkey gun. Sold it and bought it back from the buddy I sold it to. Sentimental reasons...first turkey.

Yeah, I'm almost with you. I've sold a few things, but nothing I yet regret. I tend to get far too attached to my guns to sell most of them and just keep adding to the collection.

My only regret with my firearms was transporting my entire collection in a boat on a river, of which I cannot remember the name, and having a hopelessly tragic accident in which everything was lost overboard. Everyone please learn from my foolish experience and never move your collection by water. Only tragedy will result.
A nation under a well regulated government, should permit none to remain uninstructed. It is monarchical and aristocratical government only that requires ignorance for its support.
--Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1792

"Reasonable" would be wiping every firearms-related law off the books and not hanging them all for treason.

Great advice. I know it sounds crazy, but the same thing happened to me on a nameless lake in Kansas.

I can see how fits of silliness, immaturity or awful financial pitfalls can sometimes result in the regrettable selling of either a favorite gun -- or one you find later that is dearly missed. That happens.

You do it twice with the SAME model of gun?!
I could describe that with a few different words, none of them would be complimentary. If that situation saddens you, you sure deserve it. I can't believe you'd admit to it.
I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Then there's a gun or two I wish I'd never bought...that Intratec Tec-9 I bought when I was a college kid. Worst bleepin piece of ++++ I've ever come across in my lifetime. Would've made an awesome Russian Roulette gun - it hardly ever fired when you pulled the trigger.

If you expand the list to guns I didn't buy at the time.....the Colt Pythons and Anacondas I could have bought in the 1990s for very little coin....but didn't. Colt's high-end wheel guns were never all that popular, back in the day, but now they certainly bring the big money.

Only one I miss was a mint smith & wesson 10-5 4" pencil barrel revolver I sold to Radionicist a few years back because I needed money. At least I met another guy I can call a friend!
Would you believe, I need a 10-5 for my "one of every dash" collection.
There will be more however.

I had 32 handguns...none junk...including several S&W , COLTS and RUGERS... a back injury and inability to work forced the sale of all but a colt 1911... I regret all of them.... Even worse ( non gun related) a 1973 USA fender stratocaster and a 1968 Fender telecaster deluxe AND a 1968 Gibson ES335 played on stage by BB KING......I sold the 2 fenders and the NEXT DAY made sales enough that I could have kept them..

Yeah, I regret not buying an SKS or Makarov back when they were dirt cheap. The Colt Python was before I was into buying firearms so my regret there is that I wasn't in the market for one back when they were more available and not a collectors item.
