I would like to politely request that EVERYONE who attends this Saturday's meet act in a professional, calm, rational manner. There seems to be some indications that there could be a "protest" at the parks and around town. Everyone, please attempt to maintain a thick skin, and worry about having fun and educating those who ask questions.

Obviously, every person has the right to act as they see fit, but please CONSIDER what I'm saying.

Your concern is duly noted, and good advice. However if the past is much indication, those on the other side are all talk and little if any action.

Oberlin City Councilman Bryan Burgess has RSVPed for the event on Facebook... should be interesting, as he has expressed a rather strong desire to fight the law change.... as in, he wants to keep guns banned...

WOW... That's gonna be great!
To bad it's so far away (200 plus miles one way) and my son has a game tomorrow. Someone please record the events and gives us updates on here.

So....the obvious question that nobody's asked is: What the hell is going on in Oberlin?

I have the "pleasure" (hurl) to work in that bastion of Liberalism (gag) and "Forward" thought. Unfortunately, I work at the FAA center and cannot carry a piece on the facility grounds, which would preclude me enjoying the fellowship that will take place in the park tomorrow. Which kinda sucks! Anyways....I was just curious if something happened that I missed. Or are we just talking about the usual Oberlin attitude towards everybody that doesn't tow the party line?

All the more reason for everyone to be on their best behavior and resist general snarkiness (regardless how appropriate and fitting it might be). And this might not be the best day to be carrying EBRs and the like. I believe there IS a time and place to so. I just don't think today is it. Please don't get me wrong - I'm not tryin' to be the boss of anybody - y'all do what ya' want; I just don't think it'd set the right tone for the day. Today is the day to answer every insult with a smile and a wave.

The above is my 2¢ and does not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of OFCC.

Great advice that I hope everyone follows. Especially resting general snarkiness.

If not for work today, and vacation in Cancun on the next one, I would make the long drive.

it was a pretty good day... my kids got to play in the park, and no guns "jumped" out of anyone's holsters and hurt them, nor any of the other kids there... amazing, hunh? Some of the others got pics and/or video, so hopefully we'll see something after their long drive home!

Still waiting on the edited story.;.. they sure made Ashtyn look like she was scared... when she just, at that exact point, wanted to get down... Makes me wonder how they're going to butcher my on-cam interview...

BriKuz,
Don't take it personally
All they have is manipulations and innuendos
We have facts, truth, freedom, and common sense on our side

A gun may be used to kill somebody, but the news media can be used to start a war
Which should be more regulated?

neither... but it WOULD be nice to have a TRULY independent news outlet... but which of us would pay for news not adulterated by pandering to advertisers? (hint: me!!!)
