IIRC, the original photo came from the post-Katrina era - running a lawn mower would have been one of the biggest wastes of gasoline one could think of.techgebhardt wrote:I have to say I like this. Grass is a little grown, no?
But you were probably joking...

I'm also interested in learning more about Adam's Conservation Club. I'd love to find a place to shoot near Toledo that isn't Cleland's, but ACC's website isn't terribly informative.mropencarry wrote:What are their rates?tbram88 wrote:I belong to Adams Conservation Club I think that makes three of us..

Re: What Gun Club Do You Belong To?
Adams sucks. There is a thread here, and an excellent thread in the Ohio section of AR15.com where members have complained about them. Many people left the club this year, not that it matters. Their overpriced open spots fill up quickly since they are the only game in town.
Southern Michigan Sportsmans Club is the best range close to Toledo. They have a nice indoor range and an outside range out to 100yrds. However there is a long wait to get in. Sandusky County Club is even better but is a 45min drive for me.
I'm a member at both clubs.

Left the Medina Bird Club
I parted ways with the Medina Bird Club, between the poorly maintained facilities; mud pit of a shooting area, no proper bathrooms, they basically have old fashioned latrines that just seep into the ground, a driveway that's fast becoming a mud hole, and the ridiculous underhanded tactics of a certain firearms instructor and the executive board I decided it wasn't worth the $100 a year and the frustration. There were at least a half dozen times I wanted to use the range and they had lent out the club to the CCW instructor or another member group without notifying the members.
There were several quality individuals there but unfortunately they were out numbered.

I just joined the Toledo Trap and skeet. They seem like good people and it's just down the road from me.

What do you not like about it? I think its a great place. It has all the disciplines: Short range pistol, long range pistol, rifle (50, 100, 200 yrd), trap and skeet, and archery! They also have a nice private lake(so you don't need a fishing license) that you can fish and swim at. I was a little leery after reading about Adam's on a few forums but once I took the tour and realized how much they offered I was hooked.ArcherAce wrote:Adams sucks. I looked at it like this: I usually go shooting twice a month. If I went to Cleland's thats $20 x 2 x 12 = $480 not including their overpriced ammo. Adams yearly dues are $200, first time members pay a one time $125 fee on top of that. That's only $325.

They also just changed the round limit to 10 rounds across the board So I guess if you like to just blast away your ammo then don't join.
They will give you a nice tour if you just call and make an appointment. My buddy and me joined right after the tour, only paid half the yearly dues(it was Feb) and he knocked off $60 for each of us. If you have your CHL upon joining you will get instant access the the range. Otherwise you must wait for them to run a BG check.
