A Morrow County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of a domestic situation in Marengo on Monday night.
Upon arrival, a shooting occurred, according to a social media post.
“The deputy was struck and transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Morrow County Sheriff John Hinton. “The subject was also shot and was transported to a hospital in serious condition.”

Wonder if it was an ambush setup.

Re: Ohio deputy shot, killed while responding to domestic call
Doesn't read that way to me, Mike. From what I have gathered, the deputy responded to the address and the subject was sitting on his front porch, with one or more handguns visible and at hand or nearby. He allegedly told the deputy to leave so as not to be harmed. The deputy tried to speak with him further and the shooting occurred.
I'm thinking there's yet unreleased body camera video.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

weather the guy is sentence to life in prison or the death penalty, the taxpayers are going to be saddled with his upkeep or appeals for years to come. We need Judge Roy Bean for a speedy trial.
