Meh. I'm not an avid fan of Husted. In my book he goes along to get along.
Welcome to the OFCC forums, by the way. Not very busy here, unfortunately you may not get much volume of greetings.

Welcome to the OFCC forums - as Brian D. noted, not that much activity these days, but a few good folks still hang around.

Re: Senator Husted
If memory serves, in 2018 Husted was questing for the Governorship until little Mikey decided he wanted it. So Jon was demoted to running for Lt. Gov with the expectation he would be prime candidate for Gov. when Mikey was term limited out. (Jan 2027) Husted was making lots of pro 2A noise back then, and I believe he came to at least 1 of the OFCC Picnics as a speaker. But as was said, who knows now. Hopefully he will make a good Senator. He could also do two years as an appointed senator, then run for Governor in 2026. Or with Vivek running for Gov, maybe not. Wonder who will be the next Lt. Gov?

Re: Senator Husted
Going to be interesting in 2 years, isn't it? Yost threw his hat into the ring for Governor, but who knows what things will look like - who will run for the US Senate seat, who will run for Governor, etc.

Re: Senator Husted
You folks wondering about Jon Husted's bona fides might want to look up who was Speaker of the Ohio House that over rode Governor's Taft's veto of our first License to Carry Concealed law in 2004. He has ALWAYS been Pro-2A and was our endorsed candidate for governor until he dropped out to be Lt Gov.
He will be a good reliable vote for us in DC
It's a good fit IMO
btw, Welcome!

Re: Senator Husted
I think Hustead should have stood up and ran in the primary against DeWine, Chuck. Of course that would have pitted him against some of the Ohio Republican leaders of the time. You know, those stalward upright guys ORP Chairman Matt Borges and Speaker of the House Larry Householder. (Do they call him "Speaker of the Big House" now? I wish Tweed Ring was around to answer that.)
As a matter of fact I having the sneaking suspicion that l'il Mikey Boy was in that First Energy fiasco too, but now we may never know.
