Columbus Zoo

Post by Suckerspawn »

Is the Columbus Zoo a political subdivision of the State of Ohio? Can it prohibit firearms?
No, I am not a policeman. I am a mercenary praying for peace on Earth.
I don't want a tactical advantage. I want the bad guys to repent and find a new line of work.

Columbus seems to own the property but the zoo is operated by the Columbus Zoological Park Association. Based on RC 2744.01(C)(2)(u)(III), they should be considered a political subdivision.

Just to throw a wrench in the works, there are Class D liquor permits issued to the zoo. That means RC 2923.126(B)4 and 2923.121 may apply.

Would that be a monkey wrench, Dave?

Big city zoos seem to be 600 pound gorillas (ha!) at our Statehouse, with regards to keeping us humans from carrying there. At various times they claim to be government, private, and even public school entities.

It drives me.....bananas!
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!
