Who would be a good choice for Trump's AG and head of the ATF?

Post by M-Quigley »

Thankfully the current AG and head of the ATF will be leaving, and eventually there will be new ones. Thankfully the Everytown for alleged gun safety group will no longer have an office in the WH anymore. :) Who do you think would be good replacements in a Trump administration?

Now I know some will say don't replace the head of the ATF, just get rid of it completely. That is NOT realistic in 2025, although reining in and reducing the power of the ATF might be. I was thinking maybe Thomas Massie for ATF and maybe Trey Gowdy for AG. I like how when in Congress that a gun control bill came up, they seemed to have their facts straight on firearms, unlike the anti gunners. Massie particularly embarrassed them on the stabilizing brace issue when they wanted to add it to the AW ban, and some Democrat said it was like a bump stock, and increased the rate of fire, made it into a machine gun. :( Massie really made them look like the fools that they are at 6:30, and the audience was laughing.

Someone I know locally suggested either Troy Landry or Neal Knox or even Joe Mantegna from the TV show "Gun Stories". While I doubt the Dem's in the Senate would allow the confirmation, it would be fun seeing the reaction from them if they heard either of those two were being nominated.

Thomas Massie has been mentioned as the new Secretary of Agriculture.

I'd like to see some of the very strong 2A rights sheriffs and police chiefs tapped for ATF, FBI etc director jobs.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I agree with your choices for ATF and FBI, etc. As far as Massie or any other Republican rep, I'm a little leery of tapping any them for cabinet positions, unless they are in a solidly R district. While it appears the Republicans will keep the majority, it appears it might be a bare extremely slim majority, and the Republicans can't afford to lose anyone in a special election.
