I said this elsewhere, and the above post reinforces my belief that our current Ohio Attorney General is no longer a friend of law abiding gun owners.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Alas, I suspect you're right. OTOH, let's see how he behaves should he throw his hat in the ring for Governor - he'll suddenly become a 2A champion.
Total repeal of ALL firearms/weapons laws at the local, state and federal levels. Period. Wipe the slate clean.

Based on the linked report below, I'm pretty sure CCAS is a political entity. I can think of no other reason the audit report would include "Intergovernmental Cash Receipts" and "Sunshine Law Compliance". Oh, and their minutes are recorded under ORC 121.22, and they file a financial report in accordance with ORC 117.38. I'd love to see exactly what retirement system they contribute to on behalf of their employees - wanna bet it's OPERS?

Clearly you are some kind of subversive, sir!!
Yes, I do believe in open carry. An openly armed man is clear in his intentions. Concealed carriers are sneaks and skulkers and elitist, boot licking, political contribution making, running dog lackies of The Man. <wink> (thx grumpycoconut - OpenCarry.org)

And not to belabor this point, but if anyone thinks he isn't aware of these fairground boards posting in violation of the law, you'd be wrong, wrong, wrong. I for one have bent his ear (brought it up face to face) three times over the years. In addition to using the more conventional means we use to have politicians blow us off, emails and phone calls.

Okay, so I did belabor this point with y'all, sorry.

I for one don't call it "belaboring" - I call it "informing the unaware" and consider it extremely valuable. It's a "how sausage is made" insight.

Does anyone here think that a Democrat AG wouldn't have put his thumb on the scale, or tacitly approve of a circumstance that he felt would benefit the party, even if his "guidance" wasn't apparent?

In the face of circumstances like you describe, Yost is clearly showing his true colors. Thanks for exposing them.

At least there's *one* AG in the US that won't let a Fair organization get away with violating the law...

https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/local ... d627ac35b3

"Texas AG Ken Paxton threatens legal action over State Fair of Texas gun ban: 'Fix the issue'

Paxton argued that the gun ban infringes on Texas gun owners' rights because Fair Park is government-owned property."

I think that cake is in the oven now. Yost was on 700WLW today, talking with host Bill Cunningham about the First Energy lawsuit etcetera. Yost mentioned recusing himself from further action because of conflict of interest, "in the event that he runs for governor". Not an exact quote of course but that was the gist.

Here's an interesting article on the incident that brings up a few sections of the ORC I wasn't aware of:

Thanks Kim. The author of that article used to post here with some frequency. I think he got frustrated with the broad brush stroke anti-LEO responses of some other posters. You remember it the same way?

Nothing in the news about his pretrial hearing yesterday...

That court case, like the Ark of the Covenant, is probably now being examined by "top men". In other words the government parties involved may be trying to make it disappear into obscurity.

Glib and cynical as my comment may seem, it's based on observation. Thirty years or so back, I used to visit a bar downtown, not far from both the county and federal courthouses, that was a regular haunt of prosecutors AND defense attorneys on Friday nights. I overheard enough chit chat as the evenings went on, to figure out more than a few ex parte conversations were taking place. Too bad the judges*, litigants and stenographers weren't out there by the bocce ball courts, the trials could have been conducted.

Not saying that happens everywhere every place, but I don't believe it's exclusive to Cincinnati.

*Actually, I think some judges WERE probably present as well.
