RIP Alan M

Post by pirateguy191 »

Us old timers will remember Alan M. A message from his daughter is pasted below. RIP Alan.
Alan Ross McClure
April 8, 1947 – July 10, 2024
On the afternoon of July 10, 2024, Alan R. McClure passed away at the age of 77 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia from heart failure related to his ongoing fight with kidney failure.
Alan was born in Tacoma, Washington to Clarence N. McClure and Rose Anderson McClure on April 8, 1947. After graduating from high school, Alan went on to serve in the United States Navy for twelve years. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked primarily as an electrical engineer until his retirement from the workforce.
When he was not working, two of his favorite pastimes in life were reading science fiction and being on his computer. Alan’s love for computing began with his build-it-yourself Apple computer in the late 1970’s and carried through late into his life with gaming and online connectivity. He used his computing to stay connected to the world around him and family through online forums and electronic communications. When he wasn’t spending time at his computer, he loved getting lost in a good book from his extensive library.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence McClure and Rose Anderson and his three brothers, A.C. McClure, Neyl “Mac” McClure and Eldon “Ray” McClure.
Alan is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Tate and Tamara Schomer, two sons-in-law, Kevin Tate and Jack Schomer and his sister Lola Eagle.
At his request, Alan wanted no funeral service asked to be cremated and planted as a tree. As there will be no formal service, the family encourages friends and family to celebrate the life of Alan in their own way.

Awww I absolutely remember him, he added a lot to all of our discussions on this forum and I think I even bought a pistol from him way back in the day.

Rest in peace good sir.
I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Sorry to hear that. I liked Alan and, though he still showed up here after moving to Virginia, I missed his more frequent posting.
