Need a new small-ish 9mm, which one?

This is where you can talk about all equipment issues; firearms, ammunition, magazines, care & repair, holsters, gun cases, etc.

Ah, smart move. You can't go wrong with a shield.

There is your modern, 9x18 with a polymer frame.
But it is a Glock. I just don’t do Glock.
I used to be that way, but I got over it :)
I had a Glock 19 and 21 years ago, they were meh to me.

Then during the Obama years I was pretty much all revolvers.
I picked up a Glock 42 last year, wanting a .380 that I will actually shoot more then a couple mags though at a time.
It's really a nice little gun. I now have more then a few Glocks, easy to work on, crazy after market support.

That's cool, I have not seen one of those in the wild yet.

G27 here. Late 90's. Traded off on a nice .22 rifle, happy to see it go.

As a result of this thread, and seeing one perform, I have a G48 ordered. Back in the fold?

Resistance is futile :)
Yeah the 48, 43X and 43 are pretty nice.

Was eliminated very early in this competition. Cool name, tho.

I'm going to name my new Glock "belchfire 9 maxi-compact".

You made that decision a page ago.

I have the Shield EZ 9mm
It's the performance center model, very nice trigger
and compensated barrel
don't really like the grip safety, but I'm getting used to it

I have peripheral neuropathy in my hands and it's
easy to work the slide and load the magazines

I love it

Morne:

Picked up an EZ9 the other week. A smidge heavy, but the recoil spring is lighter, and while I'm not a 9mm favorer, I expect it'd be adequate. Very tight chamber - doesn't like "dirty" cases much - but it's fairly easy to deal with that.

The only real downer, besides being 9mm ( :) ), is that it's more or less the same size as an old M&P 4C I have here, and the 4C is a tad snappier, and maybe the 4C's closer to my "everything should start with a "4" view. I have a .40 Shield. Nasty.... But easy to carry.

Regards,
Stu.

I continue to like the Walther PPS. Very thin for concealed carry purposes, great shooting balance, capable of extending the grip with an extended magazine. Great all around shooter and carrier.
