OK, I'm at my wits end. I have several hundred 210 grain lead round-nose flat-point *non* gas checked bullets for my .44 magnum. But I am coming up empty finding load data for it. I've looked through all of the manuals I have and all of the data I can find is for gas checked bullets - in some cases specified as such, in other cases the velocity data looks *way* too high for what I would expect for plain base lead - in the neighborhood of 1400-1600fps.
Anyone (ahem Deeken ahem) have any .44 mag load data for 200-220 gr plain base lead bullets they care to share?
It would be great if the data was for H110/W296, 2400, Bullseye, Unique, AA #2/5/7, 700x, 800x (I think that's all of the pistol/shotgun powder I have...) but I'll take what I can get at this point.

I have 3 recipes for .44 Special with 205-Gr LWC but not with your powders.

Lee second edition has an entry for a 200-Gr lead bullet. I’d start there using the lower velocity loads like:
IMR 700X 3.8/4.3
IMR 800X 5.2/5.9
These are purported to yield 726-818 FPS.
IMR 700X 3.8/4.3
IMR 800X 5.2/5.9
These are purported to yield 726-818 FPS.

If you go to the Hodgdon powder website, their online reference guide shows loads for 44 Rem Mag using the 220-gr Berry's plated flat point in several of the powders you listed and at reasonable velocities for lead bullets. I'd try any of them and feel safe.

I'm not opposed to new powders if the loads are good...Morne wrote:I have 3 recipes for .44 Special with 205-Gr LWC but not with your powders.

Reminder that these are .44 SPECIAL loads:JustaShooter wrote:I'm not opposed to new powders if the loads are good...Morne wrote:I have 3 recipes for .44 Special with 205-Gr LWC but not with your powders.
205-gr LWC
Either CCI-300 or WLP
0.5cc (6.9-gr) HS-6
1.0cc (4.6-gr) Trail Boss
0.5cc (5.2-gr) W-231
These develop 700-820-ish FPS from a 4" barrel in my testing.
But I would still try those 700X/800X recipes first.
