Are there any lists of gun friendly churches in Ohio?

We had a thread running on that for a good while, but it's way down in the stack by now.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I'd think that would be a pretty hard list to compile. How exactly would you get the information, as I doubt many churches would answer that question just on face-value from a nonmember?
It would be a very useful list to people of gun, but the political blowback of publishing such a list would be enormous. Not just in the media, but also in individual church vs denomination problems. Not a lot of church offices (i.e. denomination level) are pro-gun, as the bureaucracy tends to lean heavily socialist. Sort of goes with the territory, see the National Council of Churches' historical record. Why do you think they were an enumerated off-limits location in the first place?

Good points, all of them.Mr. Glock wrote:I'd think that would be a pretty hard list to compile. How exactly would you get the information, as I doubt many churches would answer that question just on face-value from a nonmember?

As the times get worse I’m much less likely to go anywhere that are good guy gun free zones.
I guess the only way it would be ok is with smaller nondenominational churches with allowable gun toters known only to a few.

I seem to remember that gun friendly churches have to POST that GUNS ARE ALLOWED. Churches are automatically no gun zones like schools, government building etc.

Permission from the church leader is the operative out here.

We have a policy in our church. Just check in with our men greeter and let them know you’re carrying.

I believe the law says you have to get permission from the church - and the state has failed to define "Church" as it pertains to the officer, board or congregation having the authority to grant 'permission'.
don't be surprised if you find some gun friendly churches may not want you to carry there until they know you. in the case of an active shooter you may get in the way of their internal security team or get shot.....

Re: Gun friendly churches in Ohio
Anybody know how many prosecutions have resulted from unauthorized carry in a church (or any similar GFZ stats)?
Much of this is simply an unenforced/unenforceable scare tactic preying on the "law-abiding gun owner" moniker.

If your main reason for choosing what church you belong to is weather or not they allow you to carry, I as a member, would have to question where you are placing your faith.

I wouldn't agree with that.concreteguy wrote:If your main reason for choosing what church you belong to is weather or not they allow you to carry, I as a member, would have to question where you are placing your faith.
I don't think most are going to go to "just any" church because they allow, rather they will look for those churches that they agree with and then search out the ones that will allow.
If they find none of their preferred churches allow carry, then they just don't go, which is how I think.
I don't think I would question ones faith because they, (and their family), refuse to be sitting ducks in a pew somewhere because the uneducated in their congregation are making the rules.
As far as I'm concerned, a church that doesn't allow people to defend themselves, isn't following Scripture or Gods word anyway, by NOT allowing self defense.

(Clutches his pearls*) Oh my! What fresh TOS violation is this, to discuss one's religious convictions in relationship to one's Rights?3FULLMAGS+1 wrote: I don't think I would question ones faith because they, (and their family), refuse to be sitting ducks in a pew somewhere because the uneducated in their congregation are making the rules.

This arms dealer agrees with you, as do I, fwiw.
