Are you willing to bet your life on the hope that the politicians will fix this?

You're being paranoid. The State of Ohio cannot make it illegal to possess long guns. No one is going to be prosecuted for their ARs or other currently-legal guns over this wording.

Machine guns won't be illegal.
We'll always be able to buy dynamite the hardware store.
We'll always be able to mail order rifles via Sears for Christmas.
People won't be able to call 911 and send cops to your door.

And DeWine will sign a fix so that AR-15's are not illegal under the new law.

And you like to hear yourself talk obviously ;) Don't strawman me. Heller is a thing now and even though it isn't as strong as we'd like, banning all long guns is well outside its reach and certainly outside the political reality of Ohio.

Am Sub HB 228 is not a strawman. Liberal prosecutors will prosecute you. Liberal Judges will put you in prison, and the U.S. Supreme Court has declined to rule on cases to include AR-15's as protected by the Constitution. Will the Supreme Court hear your case in about 10 years? Maybe.

I sent an email to my state rep and within two hours he called me. He says they are working to get the House session and the Senate session "synchronized" so the veto overrides happen in the correct order. He also said legislators are delaying and shortening their vacations to be there for the vote.

I also brought up the LSC screwup and he asked me to write up an explanation so he can show it to the leadership.

It's amazing that they are unaware of it by now.

Well, hopefully his statement to you is correct. I guess we'll see after the 27th. I contacted my house/senate legislator and both are committed to a override. I think it's the "on-the-fence" senate legislators that will make or break the override.

So, which is it; are they not aware of the problem or have we been lied to by members of the other group?

Perhaps that information has not been transmitted to every member of the House and Senate.

I think they're figuring it out as they go, same as we are

I sent my rep a message. Including the info about the screw up.
