Re: AR sights/optics?
Enquiring minds want to know if any decisions have been made Chief.

"Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home
Let me die in a pile of empty brass."
Amen

Re: AR sights/optics?
Looking at what is new on the 2016 market:
the offerings form Leupold (Carbine optic and the D-Evo), are some truly expensive options. Yowsers!!!
I guess if I want my sights to cost more than my rifles, these are the way to go.

'CAN' does not equal "SHOULD'.

Re: AR sights/optics?
^ The D-EVO may be that final solution that I'm looking for, but I'm going to try out low-powered variable magnified optic, first. I should be able to pair it successfully with the T1.
As you wrote, it's $Texas spendy.
I'm hoping that by the time I *might* eventually be ready for the D-EVO, the price will have come down a little and, more importantly, that it will have proven its durability/reliability. The LCO really doesn't offer me much of an incentive to switch from the T1, though.

For the moment we've just topped it with a Redfield CounterStrike I had on the shelf. Seems to be working quite well.
Total repeal of ALL firearms/weapons laws at the local, state and federal levels. Period. Wipe the slate clean.
