Hello from Columbus
Hi everyone,
I moved to Ohio a few months ago, and have been sporadically lurking these forums, so thought I'd finally join. I met at least two of you at the recent March PCSI IDPA match already.
So the question that I joined to ask: Does anyone know the name of the range that will be opening in Lewis Center? Supposedly it will run IDPA. There were several mentions of it at PCSI, but I can't remember the name, and can't find info online.
Anyway, looking forward to meeting more of you!

I am not aware of any ranges going in Lewis Center area. I am wondering if it was a reference to all the work that is being done at the Cardinal Center in Marengo? They are working on some large upgrades to have pistol bays with the premise of holding large matches (like Bianchi Cup).

Thanks! And that could have been it, sounds close enough to the area. Maybe they did say near Lewis center, not "at". Would explain why I can find no info by web search.Stryker74 wrote:

I looked up cardinal center and saw that they had a sporting clays course - I will look into this more, but any recommendations for a good sporting clays place within 2 hours or so of Columbus? Anything that compares to Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays in PA, if you've ever been there?

Re: Hello from Columbus
Not familiar with Lehigh Valley. I have not tried out any shooting at Cardinal Center - but I hear positive things. I do occasionally shoot trap at Black WIng Shooting Center in Delaware - which also has a sporting clays course. It is a little closer than Cardinal Center.BadCrosshairDay wrote:Thanks! Re: Hello from Columbus
I remembered one more thing about the range - I think the first letter was R.
I've been to blackwing a few times, haven't seen their sporting clays yet though. Will check it out next time I get the chance.

Re: Hello from Columbus
So much big retail and high dollar residential being built around Lewis Center these days, makes it hard to believe anybody would be developing an outdoor gun club. Land is expensive, and complaints from those new home owners would soon pour in. Also, you never know when such an area could become an incorporated city; at that point, some pen strokes and one vote could end a new range before it ever opens.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Thanks guys!
That makes sense unfortunately. I guess I heard what I wanted to hear.Brian D. wrote:So much big retail and high dollar residential being built around Lewis Center these days, makes it hard to believe anybody would be developing an outdoor gun club. Thanks a lot for the list. I haven't seen those clubs with sporting clays yet, so I'll check them out. As for Richwood, each time I try to sign up for their IDPA event I get put on the wait list.Tru-Heathen wrote:
