Re: Kimber enters the Revolver market
I'll pass, if I wanted a wheel gun I'd get a ruger or S&W..... Kimber make a nice gun but, their one year warranty leaves me with a sour taste. When I got my Custom II in 2009 there just weren't as many choices. If I was buying new today I doubt it'd b a kimber.

Well this isn't fair AT ALL but that won't stop me, hahaha... But Ruger not only provides NO WARRANTY, but they have a long history of expressing that fact with vigor.
(not fair because Ruger's reputation for customer service and Kimber's exist on far opposite ends of the scale)

I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Ruger doesn't have a written warranty. Instead they have a company policy of backing their firearms 100%. Given the legal liabilities of complying with the Magnuson-Moss Act, I understand and respect a simple no BS company policy.Sevens wrote:Well this isn't fair AT ALL but that won't stop me, hahaha... I've had issues with Ruger where a call to customer service resulted in an emailed overnight shipping label and the gun back in my hand within a week. No charge.
I've known people who were the second or third owner of a Ruger firearm that went back for service. The guns not only came back repaired, but often with new barrels or re-blued. They are the gold standard for customer service in my mind.
Be warned not to send Ruger any customized parts. For example, do not send them a custom 10/22 with a Volquartsen trigger group, a Shilen Match Grade barrel, and a Bell and Carlson Anschutz-Style Target Stock. Ruger will remove all those expensive toys, toss them in the trash, and return an absolutely factory-stock 10/22. Don't send them a gun with anything but stock equipment on it!

Looks like a SP-101 and a 642 had a baby.
Decent sights on a snubby are hard to find and usually can't be changed out. Dovetailed sights fore and aft to me is the most interesting thing about this Kimber.
I don't think I'm going to run out and pay full retail for one though. I will happily accept the loan of one and retake TDI's snubby course to wring it out. You know, for the good of the community.

Only cure for that is to take it to the range.
