The forums have been hosted for some time now out of my pocket. We are coming up on the annual domain renewal for ohioccwforums.org and I pay roughly $20/month to keep the forums online. I do this to maintain the long-standing history of discussions here indexed in Google, and so that people have a place to discuss this topic outside of modern social media censorship. I found a summary list of the measures if it helps.
* Prohibits carrying a concealed deadly weapon or handgun, unless the person is a police officer or a person who holds a license to carry a concealed weapon.
* Requires a person who sells or transfers a gun, and who is not a licensed gun dealer, to report such transactions to police
* Requires an owner to report a lost or stolen gun to police.
* Creates a gun offender registry, requiring people convicted of gun crimes to register their names with Cleveland’s Safety Director.
* Prohibits the display, marking or sale of a facsimile firearm and prohibits brandishing a facsimile firearm in the presence of law enforcement or with the intent to frighten people.
* Prohibits the negligent transfer of a firearm to a felon or intoxicated person.
* Sets restrictions for firearms in the hands of minors and restricts discharging firearms in public areas, including schools, churches, cemeteries, playgrounds, and parks.
* Requires owners to safely store firearms to keep them from being stolen or out of the hands of children.

This is all you need to know....
Section 627.27 Jump Traps
(a) No person shall use or permit the use within the City of any steel jump animal trap or similar device with spring activated jaws of the types commonly used for the trapping of fur bearing animals, which is capable of inflicting cruelty upon dogs or cats or which constitutes a hazard to small children.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of unlawful jump trap use, a misdemeanor of the third degree.
The rest is as laughable as that section. There must be a huge bear problem up there.

Hell, they even admit that it has nothing to do with safety. It is a bunch of liars and thieves passing some feel-good, do-nothing legislation. It is all about the money.
The duplication allows police to charge offenders under the city code instead of the state statute, which means the city keeps any fines collected, Chief Counsel Rick Horvath told members of City Council's Finance Committee Monday.

The anti-gun lobby would like to have registration numbers on them. Just wishful thinking on their part.
The registration number is right under the serial number. Grind away the serial number to find the registration number...

To be honest that is what a lot of the laws, codes and regulations are about... Just a way that some govt entity can get money, just like home inspection/building codes... Folks had been building houses for 200 years before building codes came about... And those houses were better built than ones today... I doubt any house built today will last 200 years.

Is there really a lot of folks that go shooting in the cemetery ... Half of those proposed laws are already laws... And if laws worked, they wouldn't be trying to pass new laws because the ones we have would have stopped it all... As for the brandishing a facsimile firearm, that should be common sense and if someone is to stupid to know that it isn't a good idea to be pointing a toy gun or bb gun at folks, then a law damn sure isn't gonna help... I say let the idiots win the Darwin Award.... I think politicians just sit around and think up stupid laws because they have nothing better to do.

Trust me, I know that well. It is just so odd and out of character for them to come out and flat out admit that they don't know if something will work but they are doing something just to show that they are doing something. And then on top of that to say they are doing it for the money? Just soo out of character.

Hopefully you've all seen the email from OFCC announcing that we've filed suit against Cleveland. To be sure we have standing we are suing them alongside a Cleveland resident (and valued member of the OFCC community) Dan McIntosh.
Less than 24 hours after city council passed these obscenities we were in their face fighting for the lawful protections ORC 9.68 extends to all of us. We worked too hard for statewide preemption to see Cleveland so nakedly violate it.
We're also very happy to be partnering with Ohio Carry who will have some EPIC protests coming in the days/weeks/months ahead - please keep in touch with those guys for details.
This injustice will not stand.

Nope.
I did see an update from David Codrea that a Mandamus was filed for public records from Cleveland, but no email.
We'll get you added to the list. I used the email address in your profile.
The other things are coming. Volunteers do their thing and then others come along to do theirs. Working on it. The important thing is we were in court within 24 hours.
